As long as it won't take another four years like the ridiculous wait between Back to Basics and Bionic, I hope she won't rush it and it will be something that she's allowed to keep her creative imput over this time. After the farce of Bionic, I hope they'd learn...

I want her to come back really strong! I love a lot of her songs but the last album was not my cup of tea.

I don't think Bionic was anyone's cup of tea, including Christina's!

Bionic was a solid album, it was just far too long. it needed about 6 tracks editing out and she could have streamlined a solid comeback album out of the tracks she left in. When you over saturate the album with too many tracks none of them become memorable and listening to it becomes a slog. Sometimes less is more Xtina!

Didn't Bionic take this long because of her son?
I'm not a fan of her, but I like to give the big vocalists a chance. Hopefully she can make-up for the strained voice in Bionic.

The trouble with Bionic was the meddling from her label. There were some good songs on there - You Lost Me is beautiful and a disgustingly underrated ballad with a lovely video - but by the time the suits were done getting their paws all over it the album had been sucked of any heart and artist identity. Also, I normally hate it when people accuse everyone and their mother of ripping off Lady Gaga but I can completely understand why those criticise Bionic because just the cover art alone seemed to do just that.

Christina needs to be allowed total creative freedom to do what she wants and only then will be get a good, heartfelt album. You could tell she was just going through the motions with Bionic and simply didn't care. Hopefully she'll get back on track after her marriage problems and whatever else she's been going through and will be allowed to do the next album her way. If she flops again it will be over for her. It might be too late as it is.

I really hope we get the album atleast next year,
I mean she does take her time.
1- Self titled debut 1999
2- Stripped 2002
3- Back To Basics 2006
4- Bionic 2010
5- Fifth 2014 (NO!) How about 2012

She's already writing with Sia!

Sia took a picture with her recently but didn't confirm any writing & recording but it's more than likely as Sia lives in New york and barely goes to LA but is staying there for a little while now for some reason...

Sia wrote "You Love Me" "I Am" "All I Need" "Stronger than before" and "Bound to you" for Bionic and Burlesque. I think they'll make another strong ballad together for the next album.

I totally agree with you on this.
I was really disappointed with Bionic because of the intrusion from her label, but if she pulls out another Stripped or Back To Basics I'll be back in the box labelled ''XTina Fans''.

Linda Perry said a while back that she's working on a ''Rock'' direction, and I'm glad to hear she's working with Sia. This has the potential to be an excellent album, especially with someone like Christina.

One thing is for sure; this album will be personal, raw, emotional and full of soul.

That's how I like my Christina.

I wouldn't judge her on it, her music was supposed to be more 'underground' style electronic music (like Birds of Prey, etc) but the label made her go and re-record most of it with American producers/writers, ending up with tracks like Not Myself Tonight.
I think it was ladytron who really kicked off about it...

Interesting. Hopefully there'll be no screeching, fog horn vocals.

I'm always interested in new material from her, I don't think I'd ever move on from her music but the wait is annoying.

the wait is always the worst part! but i hope the album will be unleashed early next year at the latest! I mean she has had a year working on the album if we go by the speculation.

And i really liked Bionic, true had a few been cut off and the deluxe disc been on a standard edition then Bionic would have been neatly brushed up and close to perfect in direction. The backlash was unneccessary and i feel that only had a slight impact on the album sales. I just hate that she is hated so much i mean she is the finest vocalist out there....listening to the current single by Beyonce only shows that actually Woohoo and Desnudate were something fresh and brilliant in comparison (but i liked them on first listen anyway)

With Bionic i kinda wanted more MIA, Santigold, goldfrapp collabs as well as the Ladytron and Le Tigre songs. mix it up a bit.

But if she is working with Sia it would be phenomenal, i felt her chance to become more established with Bionic was slammered, but she has anoher chance too, maybe push the standards really.

I am proud to be a Xtina fan and cannot wait for her next album, but honestly i dont want her to leave us waiting

Stripped is by far her best record and I hope she returns to this sound on her next album instead of the forgettable trash of recent years

For me, Bionic is Christina's best album.

It's one of my favourite albums of all time, and as much as I like Stripped and Back to Basics, they seem much more over-saturated with fillers than Bionic. I sometimes skip Sex for Breakfast but mostly I listen to the entire album often. It's the sound of Summer 2010 for me!

I am conflicted on Christina's opinion though, I have seen interviews where she says shes proud of the record but a lot of posters say she wasn't too keen, she did the right thing though if it wasn't received well, best to move on. I wish they had tried harder with You Lost Me though!

I agree that 4 years is way too long, perhaps it could never live up to expectations building up over that time, I was saddened to hear the general feedback for Bionic because it really works for me.

to be honest in comparison to a lot of artists apparently "flopping" Christina actually i think set a trend with Bionic

and that is interesting to hear your perspective of Bionic Journal. and i agree VERY much Bionic, Plastic beach, MAYA and Flesh Tone were MY albums of summer last year! and whatever happened i do really like Bionic!

But damn this year there are so many i can call my summer albums.

Was dissappointed with Scissor Sisters and Kylies albums overall last year but honestly this year...zilch dissappointed for the ones i love

It is good to hear that she is coming back. Lets hope that there is some insightful material in relation to her recent life. I think that although they were not great experiences, she may be able to draw some inspiration and produce some excellent work. Other artists such as Britney Spears and George Michael have been able to do this in the past.
