RIP This is so utterly sad... first Ari Up, now this... what the hell is going on with the original punks that is making them die so early?

I'm going to put Germ Free Adolescents on repeat, such an amazing punk record. She was a true original!

I'm shocked - only 53

Seems she had a lot of bum hands dealt to her over her career, but remained upbeat none the less:

Guardian Obituary

RIP

Tragic news.

X-Ray Spex may not have lasted that long but they sure as hell burned brightly. And 1978 would have been a lot less exciting without 'The Day The World Turned Day-Glo', 'Identity' and 'Germ-Free Adolescents'.

'Some people think little girls should be seen and not heard ... but I say: OH, BONDAGE! UP YOURS!'

RIP, Poly - you were superb.

I'm listening to the Last Word on Radio 4 and this the first I knew about Poly Styrene's passing. I can't believe it, this makes me feel awful. RIP.
