Precious Illusions is my favourite from Alanis, and I can't wait for the new album.
Was she better when she was sad and angry? Yes. Is she still focking great? Yes!

Lovelovelove the whole of Jagged Little Pill. Only heard it all last year. Had only heard a few of the singles before that. Every song is so good one of my favourite albums ever.
I also love Uninvited and Hands Clean. |

She's so brilliant. Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie is one of my favourite albums ever and sometimes it surprises me how much influence her music has had on my own songwriting.
Over-listened to Jagged Little Pill but you can't deny it's class. There's so much power behind some of it's songs like Forgiven. I recommend checking out the acoustic version of that album she did for it's 10 year anniversary. |

Huge fan here. I really wish she'd not take so long between albums (I know she's just had a baby). Anyway, can't pick a favourite but I love

And JLP is the second biggest selling album by a female in the history of music, only Shania twain's come on over sold more (40 Million+ JLP 33 Million +).

yeah, there does seem to be a pattern there. the follow ups weren't as good in both cases. i did love both these albums though. they also were also slow burners sales wise.

Remember though, Madonna was her boss at this stage. Alanis was signed to Madonna's Maverick Lable.
I’m not sure if Maverick is still going actually, but sales dipped for each album. I know there was some fall out as Alanis felt SFIJ wasn’t promoted as much as JLP – however I think it still sold about 16 million copies in the end – JLP was a one off and very hard to top. In terms of Alanis I do think she is amazing and I have every album – although I am not sure how much influence Madonna had on her career – the whole point of Maverick was to sign raw talent and allow the artist to control the career rather than the label. I know Madonna turned up at some Alanis concerts, MTV unplugged for one. Still – I’m not complaining – she still has the highest ever selling debut for a female – and the quality of her song writing and voice shines through… |

Her best album, and don't think she will ever top it. It's her lyrics that touch me, she writes great songs!Has anyone seen her joke version of BEP 'My Humps'! LOL it doesn't suit her voice at all but the video is hilarious!

Everyone says this but I can't help but disagree, it's a great album & has some stormers i.e. You Oughta Know etc but I personally don't think it's her best, I prefer both Supposed Former Infactuation Junkie & Flavors of Entanglement and possibly even Under Rug Swept!

You are right to a degree – I think it was shared management of Alanis with Guy Oseary (Madonna’s long time friend/career guider) and yes she was signed to Maverick for the first 3 albums, then Madonna (ditched) sold Maverick back to Warner and Alanis along with it.

Maverick was set up by Madonna, Freddy Demman and Guy Oseary. Freddy sold his share of the company.

I will find the interview where Alanis talks about Jagged Little Pill and post it on here. She says Madonna had a huge Influence on her while making that album. |

Supposed Former Infatuation Junkie is great, but I still prefer Jagged Little Pill. It deserved the success.
