I'm still wondering what the dark stuff is, the Ste resenting Noel idea sounds so likely, and I kind of do want it to be that, as long as Ste doesn't start hitting him or something. I don't even think Noel would let him really but, I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it isn't Brendan hitting Ste still or something like that.

I still think we could be heading to a point where Ste starts to really resent Noel. Recent events threw me off the idea but now I'm being drawn back to it.

You know what really got me thinking about it, the way Ste talks to Noel sometimes. Like, when he was having ago at him over the whole mysterious ex thing, then the "So what if I still want to be with him" - I dunno whether it was just me who thought this, but Ste looked quite .. evil when he said that.

Plus it's clear Ste doesn't even like him, the facial expression of disgust that's permanently showing is proof enough of that.

Totally agree with this. Noel is his back-up plan so that he doesn't have to sit at home alone of an evening, pining for Brendan, but he doesn't (at the moment) appear to have any real feelings for Noel at all. (apart from disgust, obviously.)

Yeah, all true. It still seems like he's only with him because he's forcing himself to be. There's no affection there, he actually looks like he wants to hit him with his bat (not a euphemism) a lot of the time.

I think there is going to be some dark stuff coming up with Note, but I'm genuinely not sure from what side its going to be. Ste starting to resent Noel is very plausible, but on the other hand we've had hints of Noel being a bit controlling too, like his reactions to Amy and Cheryl. I think it could go either way.

The problem with Noel though is that when we get hints like that, I'm not sure if it means anything or if I'm just reading too much into crap acting

Yeah, Kiara, sometimes I do wonder about Noel. As you say, it could just be bad acting but there is something oddly... demanding and controlling about him. I still hate that he made Ste go and confront Brendan with him as "proof" of his devotion to their relationship.

Do you know one of the things I really love about Ste? I love it when he tells lies. I don't know why, I just love the fact that he's a pretty good liar, and that he has no hesitation in telling lies (to Rae, Noel, whoever..).

It just seems so true to the character and his history, so although we feel sorry for him because Bren treats him like crap, he is still a bit of what Wazza calls a 'scrote'!

I was wondering this too, whether it's Noel who turns into a monster or some sort, (well not literally turns into a monster but you know what I mean.) with how controlling and possessive he seemed with Ste on Thursday, it's really possible that he could just be as bad as Brendan in the controlling thing. *most likely without the violence though.*

& Brendan could save him.

I like that there is a bit of an edge to Ste too - while its nice that he's matured a lot since he was a complete shit, its good that he's still recognizably the same person. And I think it helps explain Brendan's attraction to him too.
