Well I'm sure everyone is aware of the Playstation Network hack that took place a week or so ago, the ramifications of which are only just coming to light.

The Sony Qriocity IPTV / Streaming Music system works off of the same servers, and the press releases have admitted that Qriocity users have also had their details stolen.

Now I have only used Qriocity via my Bravia TV for Pay As You Go film streaming. All of the publicity so far has been about Playstation users losing their info and potentially credit card info. I'm trying to work out exactly how much information I, as a Bravia Qriocity only user, could have lost.

So firstly, can anyone remember exactly what details Qriocity only users had to provide to sign up? I can't check my profile as, obviously, the network is down at the moment.

Secondly, does anyone think Credit Card details are at the same risk as Playstation users or subscription music streaming customers? If you only use PAYG streaming you make one-off payments via the website to credit an online wallet. IIRC you have to enter the card details each time (have only done it twice) and I think the details are not stored. Clearly this is different to a subscription service where details have to be stored for recurrent billing.

So do people think that PAYG film streaming users have less to worry about regarding Credit Card details?

I am still obviously worried about identity theft and am about to go about ensuring I have no passwords in common with that used on Qriocity.

On bbc news and security expert suggested, even if you use the playstation network for movies, your card detail are at risk

I am very nervous as well. I signed up a account but am hesitant to give out my credit card information due to them asking specifically for the 3 diget security code on the back of the card.
