i agree the point scoring is silly. i don't agree with either of you when it comes erotica. i like to see myself as an objective fan of both janet and madonna. if something doesn't work in my opinion i`ll say.

true but Erotica and Janet. rocks my world!!!

Just blasted the album, i feel bad for putting it down a peg or two....has been a WHILE since i played it (blushes) and damn Throb is a killer tune!!!! like damn, that Acid House production is immense.

I like to think of myself as a casual fan with Janet, but like Kylie is for some people....Janet is for me . I own her albums Control - 20 Y.O. But damn Rhythm Nation, Janet. and The Velvet Rope are a trilogy of mesmerising albums!

However, i do hope that she will resurface in popularity here in the UK. She has really wained off. In fact her last Platinum album was The Velvet Rope wasnt it?? and All For You went gold i believe. I would love for her to do a comeback style like Cher perhaps with an anthemy tune that evryone will go....WOOO Janet i remember her etc.etc.

Yeah like i said, Janet. Is a far stronger recording overall than i gave it credit for and somewhat horny :P

i love the `janet` album. `if` was my favourite on the first play. that is what i mean about it being effortlessly sexy. people could relate to that song and the lyrics.

YES!! If is just awesome and pulsating in production, there are real standouts!

Of all her albums i have owned that one the longest duration

I love the video to If aswell. Very absurd with adrodgenous dancers. very slick!

This Time is very dramatic too! a proper fuuuuck you style song!

the album is quite long. it is a really good follow up to rhythm nation. you see what is mean though? with `if` being something people could relate to as opposed to `erotica`?

this time, very strong album track! i thought it should have been a single!

i get you dont like that era....but damn there is so much on Erotica you can relate to!

Words, Thief Of Hearts, Bad girl, Rain, Why Is It So Hard and In This Life are just so hard hitting anthemic style songs just so powerful!

Check out mentions on YT and search these songs, comments of people who CAN relate.

Erotica was a artistically derivative and fantastic follow up to Like A Prayer (BEST.ALBUM.IN.MOTHER.FREAKIN.EVER!) similarly to how Janet. is a solid contrasting follow up to Rhythm Nation.

And If is more emotionally honest, while the title song Erotica is meant to be trippy and trancey, it commands the listener.....like you said, not your cuppa.
