Saw her on Oprah Winfrey show earlier today (TV3 Ireland saw it) and she's really good. I decided to set up a thread for fans

Spotlight is beautiful, I reckon my 12th fave song of the previous decade, and I Remember Me is good too. I am encouraged that Imagine FM are playing it, but I have not heard it played on many other stations.

Jennifer has done well for someone to come just 7th on American Idol. She may have been wise to take a few years out before releasing any music.

Did she have a song called Hero or My Hero or something? Someone told me they heard it on telly and asked me about it.

I like her, and she deserved her Oscar, and Spotlight is awesome, but she needs to stop doing the cheap R'n'B she does.

She should just do Soul, it could be much better.

I take it 'I Remember Me' is the single she's releasing here as it's been performed a few times? I like it. I love 'Where You At' and 'I Got This'. 'Angel' and 'Gone' are also good.

From her debut I loved 'Spotlight' and 'If This Isn't Love'. I love 'Stand Up too, that was a UK bonus track. 'You Pulled Me Through' is goof aswell.

So her album debuted at #20 on the album chart here in the UK. Not surprising really. The sound of this album doesn't really appeal to a wide audience I guess.

I heard I Remember Me on The Revolution yesterday. So hopefully more radio stations are starting to play it now.

I don't know. I like 'I Remember Me', but it sounds more like an album track to me. I think maybe 'I Got This' would be more appropriate for radio. It has more of a catchy chorus imo.

They should have released 'Where You At' in this country as well as the US and then they would have had a video to play in this country, because it doesn't look like they are making a video for 'I Remember Me'.

#20, the UK can obviously not spot amazing talent then, should have been #1.

Yes the lack of a video and a radio friendly song has caused it not to debut high. It's not really surprising though because although a lot people know who she is, she's not really that well known for her music in this country seems. Such a shame is her voice is brilliant. The only song people probably know her for is 'Spotlight' and 'And I'm I Am Telling You'

I actually think she is a very inspiring woman, for finishing 7th on American Idol, then returning 2 years later in Dreamgirls, a new album and earning herself a Grammy, Oscar and a few others, then she returned once again after her Mother, Brother and nephew were killed and finally she lost huge amounts of weight. After all that she is still a really nice, genuine person, I think she deserves a lot more success.

i agree. amazing highs and pretty bad lows. yes, she is pretty inspiring! it is a shame she is not more successful. she seems to be more critically successful as opposed to being a commercial success.

Yeah it is inspiring how she's managed to pick herself up after all that's happened to her. Such awful thing to go through. She really seems positive about life still, it's amazing.

Here are some performances from her recent V-103 Soul Sessions visit

Angel

I Got This

Where You At

Spotlight

I wonder is her style of music not popular in the UK?
