Christian's backstory is very different, he was younger, prouder and not so dependant on family and community for his self esteem. He also wasn't in a relationship so only had to worry about the impact it had to him personally. He was quite comfortable putting himself before his family (even with Jane and David)
Syed on the other hand had a much closer relationship with his mother and knows that his family essentially blame Christian for "making" him gay and him for being too "weak" to resist him. Syed has always put himself last, whether it is with his family or to a certain extent with Christian.
There is no doubt Christian understands how important Syed's family is to him, and is terrified they will hurt him again (and again). He wouldn't have been there at the ABRC if he didn't support him - but the Cruella and Godzilla comments mean he doesn't really understand why - so he can't relate it to his own experience.”

I find him even more attractive in casual wear
He's so manipulative and he knows exactly what he's doing! I think there's a small part of him that wants to give Zainab the money to help her out but I think there's a greater part there that wants that constant 'connection' to her, I don't trust him one bit :sleep:
I actually felt a bit sorry for Masood tonight too, I can see how he'll slowly start to spiral out of control a bit if Yusef carries on as he is.....
Overall I thought tonight's ep was really strange *cough* Jeff Povey I don't like Lydia at all and I've really gone off Mercy too

Thanks elphie. Sounds cute. They're close to the top of the cast list too, so I'm feeling a tad more hopeful now. Surely if they can waste scenes for chats with Jane they can put aside a minute or two for a proper conversation about Syed losing his family and them deciding to adopt a child...
