Is there anyway to disable this? Its one major pain in the behind, I've only tried Twitter and Facebook clients, but it makes going through timelines a nightmare. You always send up in the row to the left or right. Its annoying me so much that I think I might have to ditch WP7

It's not possible to disable this as it's a feature of the Metro UI.

Can I ask, how are you scrolling? I've never had a problem with it.

Hmm well I suppose I might have to be more accurate. Coming from an iPhone it wasn't and issue as it didn't go left or right

Yep, pivot controls and panoramas are a fundamental part of WP7. It may just be case of adapting how you control the screen. You're probably swiping in a diagonal where your iPhone looked at only the y-axis movement but WP7 uses both x and y axes.

It should only pan if you're consciously moving a finger right-to-left or vice versa. Does this happen when using your index finger or just with your thumb?

I've always been used to using the thumb, No finger is fine, my thumb doesn't go exactly up down when scrolling it sort of curves.

I suppose it's just a case of getting used to moving your thumb in a straighter motion. I can see how this would get annoying though.

Right well issues resolved. The problem was my thumb, its fine with my finger, and using Rowi its every bit as good as using an iPhone twitter client.

Even though it's a paid for app, definitely try out Birdsong. I think it beats everything else out there.
