How was the service in London today, especially those at the Royal Wedding ?

Data was atrocious, there was a period in which it wouldn't work at all, or the 3G dropped down to GPRS which was in turn either painfully slow or not working at all.
Phone calls just about worked, and texts seemed OK if a bit slow, occasionally phone would drop to no service at all, even though reasonable bars of coverage. O2 by the way, down the Mall for most of it. Did they actually ramp up coverage in areas along the route, or did they just leave everyone to suffer?! |

2G with Virgin and 3G with Three were fine all day in South London. I expect the problem was mainly in Central London?

I remember being with O2 during a Notting Hill carnival a few years ago. May as well have not had a phone.

Anyone have experienced things with any other network? When I was in central London (trafalgar square) at new year there was no data/ congestion issue. Did take longer to connect a call but there was no call failed thing.

Overall capacity available on O2 depends on whether your phone is 3G900 compatible or just 3G2100... |
