Crossroads - Who was Mrs Tardebigge??
I had a look at the cast list for Crossroads on IMDB. Strangely Noele Gordon only is shown for 219 episodes.
But the character of Mrs Tardebigge played by Elsie Kelly has 325 episodes. But who the **** is that?? Never heard of either the character or actress. |

Elsie Kelly is in Benidorm these days with the intolerant son and drunken daughter.

According to Crossroads Online, the character was only in the soap for 2 years so I think IMDB has got in wrong (as they have with Amy Turtle who is credited with only 35 episodes)

If memory serves (and I'm going back nearly 20 years) - Mrs Tardebrigge was in the show towards the end of the original run in the late 80s. I think she was a cleaner at the motel.
She might have been the one with the Pat Boone obsession - though I it's possible I've got her confused with another character... |

IIRC, she had a massive beehive hairstyle when she first joined. I think it eventually caught fire forcing the character to have a drastic haircut (because the actress was tired of wearing the heavy wig.)

Yes, IMDB are wrong - there are lots of errors on that site. Elsie Kelly was in Crossroads for the last couple of years in the late 1980s - she was a creation of the final producer of that show, William Smethurst. She was very much a comedy character. I used to like her.
