A win-win then! (Fingers crossed.)

(I totally agree about Erin on ITT btw - I even love her on the infernal machine as I do find it helps my non-dancing brain follow what she's saying.)

Yeah she does make sense and I am a bit thick when it comes to dance Wouldn't mind her as a judge

I like Alesha as a person and as a judge (I know I'm in the minority here). I'd be sorry to see her go but, as a singer, perhaps she would be more suited to the X Factor

looks like this story isnt going away

the more we hear, I bet there is some fact behind it.

If it is true then I suggest we all hit Moira Ross with a petition asking for Karen Hardy or Camilla Dallerup - we want another dancer on the judging panel

Yeh it's trending on Twitter.

I am surprised he is giving her the job though. There are so many UK pop stars that are more popular. Alesha's music career has stalled imo, so it's strange that he wants her as the new judge.

Couldn't care if she went on the X-factor as she is no good on strictly

Looks limke she may be off at this

Well, a word to the BBC:

Just let her go. No fuss, no attempts at negotiation.

And if she isn't signing up for XF, let her go anyway as she has set out her stall and has indicated that SCD is not where she wants to be.

It will be pretty rude if she dumps SCD to run off to the XF.

I am surprised though that simon choose her. I think they are a lot more talented singers than her who could do the job.

Totally agree.
If she is in talks with the x-factor its clear she doesn't want to be on strictly. It's like she couldn't care less

True.

Anyway it may not be true. There have been so many rumours regarding the xfactor job so we just have to wait and see.

I agree, but despite her limitations she's like Aretha Franklin compared to Cheryl Cole, and at least she'll have more idea of what she's talking about on X Factor...not that I'd watch it anyway

As for who might replace her, naturally as a fan I'd like to see Camilla land the job but anyone who knows what they're talking about and can behave like an adult will do me fine Unfortunately my expectation is we'll be dumped with someone like Kelly Brooke and I'll spend yet another Strictly season with the judges on mute...

If she goes, she goes. Good on her I'd say if she can get a "better" job offer. Most people would jump at the chance of a better offer so why not her. I like Alesha as a person and a judge even, thought she sometimes was the voice of reason even on the SCD panel last year, much improved from the year before.

I wouldn't miss Alesha if she does jump ship...maybe Karen Hardy or Camilla can replace her

Yay, bye bye Alesha! Actually I think she would be well suited to the X-factor. Alesha seems a pleasant enough personality. I just think that SCD is the wrong show for her to be judging.

I'd like to see her replaced by someone who has been, so far, unconnected with SCD, but has relevant expertise in Ballroom/Latin American. I'm not keen on replacing Alesha with one of the Strictly ex pros (sorry to those supporting Camilla and Karen!) because I think the show does need to keep fresh. However.I hope that the lack of audience response to SYTYCD will make the producers realise how important it is for a show to have a very clear identity and that shouty and loud isn't necessarily good. It was the focus on the 10 ballroom/latin dances (and the associated glamour and glitz) that made SCD successful and I hope that gets reflected in the judging panel.

I would be pleased. She does not know that she is talking about!

Who do WE want as a replacement - the last thing we need is someone like that authority on dancing called Lisa Snowden

We need Camilla or Karen - someone who knows what they are talking about - knows ballroom and latin

If this happens and Arlene comes back, it'll all have ended rather well for everyone concerned...

I think she should jump ship to XF, as I don't watch Strictly & having someone as beautiful as Alesha on XF would make my day.

Karen Hardy is more likely to be her replacement as she has done quite a lot of work on It Takes Two and has some dance knowlage

I hope she goes personally so that the BBC can revamp the judging panel again without all the hoo harr of having to 'sack' someone.

Arlene will be looking for a job again if the reports of So You Think You Can Dance being axed are correct. (doesnt mean she would be my first choice...she wouldnt be)

I also read rumours about Claudia being head hunted for Xtra Factor which would be much more of a loss than Alesha

I dont think Camilla would want it ....I think she has 'moved on'

I dont particularly rate Karen when she talks about things on BBC Breakfast and ITT ....she is knowledgable etc but she then ruins it all by coming out with something ridiculous or not correct to make me distrust her views. She would be an improvement on Alesha though.
