Well the two stories in the Sun and Mirror this morning should put an end to all the speculation.

Unless there is a huge about turn, I think Alesha is here to stay!

Not surprising given this:

Quote:
“Alesha Dixon has reportedly been warned to commit to her Strictly Come Dancing judging role or risk being fired.

.
.
.

"She is not the most important part of the Strictly judging lineup and the show's success does not depend on her," an insider told The Sun. "It is not on for Alesha to woo The X Factor.

"She is a judge on the biggest entertainment show on the BBC and should be proud of that - not making public pronouncements about its biggest rival."

The source went on to claim that bosses had demanded a meeting with Dixon's agent to discuss the situation.

"If she hadn't committed to the show immediately they were prepared to show her the door - even if she didn't get a job offer from The X Factor," they continued. "What was most galling about it was that the BBC supported Alesha over the past few years when she got a lot of flack about joining Strictly."

Another source added: “It is not on for Alesha to woo The X Factor. She is a judge on the biggest entertainment show on the BBC and should be proud of that – not making public pronouncements about its biggest rival.”

Last night however Alesha’s manager Malcolm Blair denied the former Mis-Teeq member was involved in talks for The X Factor, saying: “Contrary to recent speculation, Alesha is committed to Strictly and looks forward to taking her place on the judges’ panel when the show returns.””

They make it sound like Alesha went to the X Factor and begged for a job....

Well, she wasn't backwards in coming forwards when it came to praising XF over SCD (her "creative" comments), so that alone could be seen as currying favour with X Factor and ITV.

Anyone would think she's not allowed free speech - since when does praising another show amount to trying to sweet-talk herself into a job offer? It might be something that's frowned upon, but in my mind it's a lot more admirable than childish sniping at other shows, and certainly doesn't mean she's trying to make X Factor give her a job.

All of this has been in the tabloids anyway, I doubt hlf of it's true....

Well, in my book, coming at a time when such negotiations were being widely reported, it does look like ingratiating yourself in order to be looked upon more favourably. The timing was not good, and had that comment come at any other time it would not have been seen to cause a problem.

But I appreciate that others might see it differently and have different opinions.

Or she could have just kept quiet (especially as she has not been childishly "sniping at other shows" unlike some). Discretion is the better part of valour as the saying goes.

What you all mean is that her judgement was wrong?

Well no surprise there then

XFactor is is head-on competition with Strictly. Whenever they air at the same time a customer watching XFactor will not be watching Strictly. Nothing against anybody sincerely changing her mind to say XFactor is better, i.e. anybody getting ready to switch sides. Anybody planning to stay is rather burning her bridges.

Yes, I agree that would be the better option, I was just saying that if she had to say something, at least it was positive rather than sounding childish, although i can see why people might think it foolish anyway.

At the end of the day Alesha should go. The BBC are just being calculating and thinking she will bring in the ratings. After all it is a free enterprise and in a previous post I supported whether it's this thread or another thread that ITV will handle Alesha's PR better than BBC. If however Alesha gets the sanction she will have bought it on herself.

Well according to reports, Dannii was sacked from TXF and Tulisa from N-Dubz is her replacement

If this is true, I can't imagine they would have both Alesha and Tulisa on the panel - maybe a bit too similar.

TBF to Alesha I think this is person in wrong job stuff. I am not going to slag her off but feel that she needs some further guidance when it comes to judging. Karen Hardy anyone. That lady is a ready made judge - and would rea\lly help Alesha
