i'm wondering...

the easiest way to surprise people is to play on their assumptions and also to hide things in plain sight, and we already know that throw away lines are very significant

so i'm thinking about my assumptions and wondering if they're correct

the silence are evil - but maybe not, they are looking after the little girl, they opened the door in the spooky room for amy without harming her

the doctor fixes things - but in the last series he didn't, he was the cause of the universe falling into the crack, maybe he causes something even worse to happen hence why he has to die, maybe the doctor is the baddie in this series and the silence are the goodies

i'm sure there are other assumptions i've made and clues hidden in plain sight but my head is already a mess thanks to mr moffat

How about this, the little girl is not a girl, but will regenerate into a guy

Ep 2: One of the things I think is not what it seems is to do with 'eye patch lady'. I'm wondering if Amy is locked in a hospital/prison/asylum and is dreaming all this.

Ep 1: The 'pregnancy' is defo not what it seems. When they are all picnicking on the beach, the Doctor tells Amy she looked as though she'd put on a few pounds. I think the thought 'maybe i'm pregnant!' went through her mind at the exact moment she spotted a Silent in the distance therefore planting this random thought as an hypnotic suggestion which is why she blurted out 'i'm pregnant!' at such an inappropriate time. I also noted that the spaceman appeared both times right after the words 'i'm pregnant'. (Obviously, this is an assumption as Amy didn't actually say the words on the beach, I'm just guessing she must have thought them).

Who needs Moffat, I'm confusing MYSELF! lol

I think that's highly unlikely. That's the oldest cliche in the book and pretty much universally hated by the hardcore sci-fi fan.

I've been giggling at the fact that Moffat put it in there though, I imagine knowing darn well it might get a few fan's blood boiling at how cliched it is! He does like to tease so!

I've just been back to check and the spaceman appears again right after she picks up the photo of herself holding a baby. It appears to be some sort of 'trigger'.

Also, can someone tell me, is that a picture of CAL on the dresser?

Of course it isn't, this is explained in Episode 2 - The Doctor uses the TARDIS to do a bio scan to see if she is pregnant or not and it fluctuated rapidly between Postive and Negative. She's quantum pregnant

I suspect the eye patch woman is something important that we may or may not find out about later on....

I think it's unlikely that Amy could dream a plot this sophisticated. Even after all she's seen, the complexity and nuance of these two eps would seem to be beyond her.

Indeed! Buffy is a prime example of the tease actually - leaving people wondering whether Buffy was really in a mental asylum and it was all a dream. It was never actually 100% confirmed whether it was a dream or not, although I think we can safely assume that it wasn't.

I think you are right though - the eye patch woman will undoubtedly have a (key?) role to play in future episodes. It's just that Moffat chosen to introduce her with the "it's all a dream" tease knowing it would cause a stir I think!

Having said that, it could yet have a dream element about it is we go back to "Amy's Choice". Perhaps Amy made the wrong choice after all and she is still dreaming! Perhaps the Eye Patch Lady is the Dream Lords wife. As the Dream Lord is basically a part of the Doctor, perhaps that means the Eye Patch Lady is part of River.

I don't think any episode can now be taken for granted, just like 'The Lodger' maybe 'Amy's Choice' should be seen in a new light - just like everyone seems to be going back to 'Silence in the Library'.

Funny how I wasn't really into this and I was a casual viewer and am now a convert, I think these episodes are not turning people off, I just want to go back now and watch others to look for clues!
