I've just been watching it on itvplayer
How did she get through?

she was awful,it wasn't even entertaining in a funny sort of way.It was just cringe worthy imo

I mean seriously if this is the level of talent on BGT these days ,then I could apply and win it and I have no talent whatsoever but then again it seems neither do half the people on this show.

One of the most baffling "Yes" decisions in the history of the show in my opinion. She wasn't decent, but she wasn't embarassingly awful either. She was on the wrong side of mediocre and I have no part of me that wants to see that act again.

Truly baffling from the judges.

The fact is this whole show is a farce and frankly i dont know if i can be bothered to waste another hour of my life next week giving them the opportunity to show me some talent, they have failed miserably so far, and its not down to simon not being their either, the standard of talent is so weak that we are seeing 50 mins of deluded fools and all this on prime time saturday night telly. Its a joke and if anyone at ITV had any sense they would pull it now - it really is that bad.

I so agree with you there. I couldn't understand why they gave that poor woman false hope. It's unfair really to make someone think they are good when in fact, they aren't. It's delusional and unnecessary.

Even Herbie went through and although he seemed a nice chap, he isn't that great. His family think he's fabulous and that's how it should be but blimey, maybe I heard something different to them. It's no good putting folk through on the sympathy vote. Although from what 'talent' I've seen so far he could probably win LOL!

I was amazed they put her through.

Without wanting to sound nasty, she just appeared to be a middle aged woman who isn't very bright dancing like she'd had a few at a wedding. If that counts as talent these days, I could probably drag any random drunk out of a nightclub and get them through to the finals

She was truly awful. It looked like she didn't even choreograph anything and just danced away like she would in her backyard. She was also pulling her trousers up every few seconds!

I have nothing against her but she did not deserve to go through.

Totally agree. She danced like a 63 year old, not a 43 year old.

But I suppose if they didn't put her through, who could they put through? They were all dire.

I thought it was awful, The woman was not the brightest bless her and basically it felt like the show was mocking her.

That's the problem: she wasn't the worst act ever -- she was a bog-standard rubbish dancer, not a spectacularly rubbish dancer.

I genuinely thought I'd missed something when she was awarded 3 Yeses. I really don't understand why Amanda called her act "unexpected and brilliant". Had something been cut?

It was really quite bizarre, because she was so poor, yet everyone seemed afraid to press the buzzer for some reason. I like Michael, but do think he's a bit soft!

As I said in the BGT live thread, it seems like this year's series is a combination of the X-Factor and Jeremy Kyle.

There is a definite element of 'bear-baiting' with this contestant- you know, laughing at the lunatic in the asylum, putting her through because she's so bad she's watchable.

Is it any wonder kids aren't interested in an education these days if this is all they have to do for fame?

Extremely sad, IMHO.

Of course what is concerning is that once she was put through she no doubt assumed that this was proof that she was an amazing dancer.

Surely she was only put through as a comedy act?

Which is exactly why I can't stand it when the judges put these kind of acts through. Not only does it give them false hope, but it also means that they can be ridiculed when they get put through to the semi-finals, (which always happens when they say yes to the rubbish acts in their first auditions), which gets watched live with millions of people watching and laughing at them.

It also means that acts that are considerably better than them get overlooked and do not get put through to the next round. How on earth must they feel seeing these type of acts progress ahead of them, when they know that they are better than them?

Don't forget that they'll whittle the yeses down to 40 in that intermediate round where they sit with the photos. I think they put some crap through so they've got some more pictures to point at and go "No" to at that point.

Totally agree. She was bloody embarrassing. Don't know why the hell the audience weren't showing 'off! off! off!' - maybe they were enjoying the music? Spent most the time pulling her top down to cover her belly!! Ridiculous decision.

You're right. Back the the Victorian freak show. No wonder the standard is so dire this year - it's encouraging other crap contestants to apply next year with a 'well if SHE can get through ....' There's a helluva difference between being crap 'funny' and just crap. And this woman came into the just crap category for me personally.

Come on guys, calm down, she was put through as a novelty act just as Jedward and Wagner were on the XF, none of the judges believe for one minute she has genuine talent, she'll be gone in the second round.
