Just wondering what everyone`s early expectations are for the album.... fan and non fans welcomed... everyone is in entittled to a view

So far we know that there is a standard and deluxe version of the album
The standard version features the album cover containing the motorbike art with the deluxe just the central focus being the head.

A total of seventeen tracks were recorded for the new album, fourteen will appear on the standard edition.[15][16].[36] On May 1, Gaga tweeted that the full listings would be posted the following day. The following is a list of already confirmed songs:
• "Americano"[15][37]
• "Bad Kids"[15][37]
• "Bloody Mary"[38]
• "Born This Way"[39]
• "Edge of Glory"[37][40]
• "Electric Chapel" [41]
• "Government Hooker"[15]
• "Hair"[15][37]
• "Highway Unicorn (Road to Love)"[42]
• "Judas"[15][37]
• "Marry the Night"[31][37]
• "Scheiße"[37][43][44]
• "You and I"[37][45][46]

For me, i remain excited and optimistic. I thought born this way was overhyped by LG and Elton J, i could clearly see the similarities to express yourself, but the single really grew on me. I liked parts of the video. I feel both overproduction of the song and video itself detracted from the essence of the song. I love Judas much more. Its more punchy and I really am excited for government hooker as it has a similar punchy edge in the remix mugler version. I hear you and I and Marry The Night are her faves...so we shall see......

From what I've heard of the snippets, it all sounds good. I don't know why she chose BTW and Judas as the first 2 singles (Judas is better than BTW but not on par with some of her best material). I hope the album turns out to be amazing so that everyone who says Gaga's peaked can eat their words especially since she's hyped it up quite a lot.

The Fame Monster is a decent album so I was going to get Born This Way, until I heard the two lead singles, which are both a bit crap. I'm no longer a fan of Lady Gaga, she's far too overhyped and her music now is just poor.

This sums up people judging Gaga and the album based on the two singles she's released so far from it of course, the two lead singles haven't been her best but there's no reason to give up on her and the album based on two songs :/

GH, MTN and You & I sound great

i think it the problem was that the hype surrounding the album by declaring her the best songwritter and BTW as better than 'I will Survive' was a little misguided.... judging by her first two songs it seems to have more substance lyrically than her last album.... and I hate to say it but a little more akin to Madonna, which in my opinion is no bad thing. She had substance in her songs and imagery. As long as she continues to state her influences. I remain excited.... for me she is the most exciting pop sensation since the spice girls lol

Do you think she's going to knock Adele off the top when BTW comes out? Foo Fighters did it so I don't see why Gaga can't :/

I love love love Gaga but I don't like Born This Way OR Judas. I'm desperately hoping the album will be better but I think the Fame Monster was so incredible that anything is going to be disappointing.

I sort of have to agree, while I'm no longer a huge fan, I'm still hanging on in hope that she returns to where she was pre-BTW. But both BTW and Judas are medicore verging on rubbish songs which is sad considering how good she used to be.

the fame album was of its time ...fresh and edgy vocodered pop ....very listenable and singalong too.... as any artist she wants to develop and grow.... always a dangerous move, especially on a second 'sophomore album' ...the song will sell by the bucket load in its early days and will be number 1 in 23 countries easily.... but its the lonegivty of sales which will be interesting to watch.... she has claimed to be as big as MJ and M...and I do like her aspirations.... for her fans ....and for her artistry..... but she is new and will learn a lot from this release.... just like she has learned from her monster ball tour.... her next tour will be better - no doubt about it.

Judging from the Sheisse and Government Hooker remixes, as well as the instrumentals from GagaVision, I'm REALLY looking forward to this album. It sounds incredible and truly a step up.

I get the distinct impression that the singles we've gotten will not even remotely be the best of the album, but likely the 'safest'. Mostly because BTW was not the original lead, Marry The Night was, and MTN along with Edge of Glory have been consistently described by reviewers as the stand out tracks. Considering how good Sheisse and GH are, yet not highlighted as the best, I feel that sets the bar pretty high.

I was unsure about Born This Way at first, but it's grown on me so much. I actually love it now. Although the creation may be arguably contrived - the end result for me is worth it. It's catchy and melodic, the message is merely the cherry on top. Not a patch on Bad Romance, but definitely not as bad as we're led to believe IMO.

I'm not as fond of Judas, but I do like it. It's tiding me over till the album adequately enough.

Not to mention, I love You & I. Mutt Lange and Brian May working with her on it will make it even better in my eyes.

I'm looking forward to it, as I do practically like everything that GaGa puts out. BUT I really do hope that the album is better than the singles: Born This Way has completely lost its appeal for me, and it's still being overplayed, which I feel is a bit of a pain as it's just making me more and more fed up with it.

Judas, I have to admit, I do love, but it seems like a mish-mash of other songs. It's the first time where I have thought "Where is GaGa's inspiration really coming from?", because admittedly, I thought that GaGa could do no wrong and that she was absolutely fantastic.

I still think that she's creative, and I have no doubt she has talent. But when as a listener you can pick up on From Paris To Berlin by Infernal, Better The Devil You Know (which I couldn't stop sloping into when singing Judas atop a mountain) and her own Bad Romance, it just makes me feel a bit cheated.

I used to be a superfan, I was completely engrossed in the hype, and thought that it was justified. But now, with the first singles of this album she's kinda lost it for me. I hope that the album will be up to par, but right now, nah. I can't see anything innovative coming out of it.

I'm looking forward to it, but as others have said, the lead singles aren't that great.
I can't wait to hear the final versions of Sheiße and Government Hooker.
Marry The Night and Edge Of Glory have been consistantly praised by critics as the best tracks.

I think the Honeymoon is finishing for GaGa, and people who were once taken in by her Warholian approach to things, something Pop has been missing for quite a while, are now seeing through the facade into one of the greatest bluffs ever in my opinion.

After the release of her second album The Fame Monster which built and improved on her debut The Fame I honestly thought she was on the brink of going stratospheric to become the biggest popstar of the 21st Century, as she'd shown no indication of running out of ideas, great pop hooks and iconic images.

I really liked Born This Way even if to borrow the Stuart Maconie Bruce Springsteen analogy it was more a Dancing In The Dark (his biggest commercial hit) than a Born To Run (his most iconic song), but Judas is mediocre by anyone standards, let alone compared to the GaGa singles canon.

Despite all the preview Gagavision clips sounding more impressive than Judas I'm really concerned that this album will be this generation's Be Here Now (Oasis 3rd album), whilst her recent NME interview had echoes of insecurity & paranoia not seen since Adam Ant Smah Hits interviews in 1982/3 when the likes of Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet & Culture Club were eroding his initially massive fanbase.

But most alarmingly GaGa looks very tired and worn out lacking that spark she once had, just compare her recent Ellen appearance http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=536vQ-74T5o, to her back in her halycon days http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUwuB0Qsq2c.

What once looked so effortlessly great now seems so try hard tired.

Well it's not like she's been on tour for almost 1 and 1/2 years or anything...

She's tired because in between of promo for the new album, she's also been finishing her Monster Ball tour. Ellen meant that Judas is now #15 on US Itunes (nice to see it increase again). Anyway, I think Gaga's simply evolving as an artist - she's one of the biggest popstars around but this 3rd album thing seems to be naturally the deciding factor on whether or not an artist has longetivity or not. From some of the comments I've read on here, its making a mountain out of a molehill, yes Gaga's sound has changed since The Fame days but the reason I'm looking forward to this album is because it seems to have a lot more depth. If she had kept exactly the same look/style she had on the first album and just stuck with wearing oversized hairbows/sunglasses/leotards, I think then really people would be a lot more bored of her than some people are trying to make out now.

People are only saying she's flopping/boring because they want to be in the majority...

People saying Gaga is not as good as she used to be clearly haven't listened to any of the other previews/remixes of the other songs off Born This Way!!!

And I'd rather Gaga make music that we enjoy that sell-out to be a commercial success.

I wish people would stop saying EOG and MTN will be incredible tracks. OK fair enough reviewers are saying they're "highlights", but people were saying that about Judas before it got released. People were sure it was to be a Poker Face-esque smash, but what did we get? A messy rehash of Bad Romance. What makes EOG and MTN any different? You need to hear a song before you can have an opinion on it.
