I am trying to wait and see but given the timing (if we are right about when the alleged proposal happens), surely there must be a connection? Unless the adoption falls through and Christian says something along the lines of "we are a family anyway, with or without a child, marry me?".....yeah, I'm living in a dream world :sleep:



I really hoped that he was going to say something along these lines, and then follow it up with the adoption suggestion...

I think they were always going to bring in 'Gay with Children' as a storyline.

I wasn't really too bothered about the way Christian bought up adoption. It was a suggestion, and yes it's what he wants.

But he also knows that Syed also wants family, the one he had and one of his own, and Syed told him such on more than one occasion.

I also think that they both realise that adoption is a long process, and it can be abandoned in the middle, but if it's not started soon they'd have much less chance - although this is more on Christian's mind than Syed's.

I'm not worried about the adoption thing, I think it'll fail, personally, but they'd have tried, and then ...... Amira's child will make an appearance.

The storylines for Chryed have to continue - and this is a soap, so lots of different things going on for them is fine by me.

Really like that in the last few weeks, with the hospital scene and last week and tonight we are getting scenes with Christian/Jane They just seemed to completely forget about them being siblings for ages!! Nice to see some happy scenes with them before she goes, Laurie and Johnny are so fantastic and playing sister and brother

Chryed were the business tonight. Loved Syed standing up to his parents and love Marc Elliott for being so fabulous. Loved Christian's "I'm proud of you" and his repeat of the sexgodrockness we saw during ABRC. It was great to get the mix of semi-angst with the comedy of the Jane-Martin sub-plot; it's been said before, but it's wonderful to see Chryed socialising and having fun with family and friends and long may this continue. Oh, I and I laarved Syed speaking for every Chryedian when he said "Surrogacy? After the last time? Are you frigging kidding me, just nooooooo."

I felt a bit of a tug at the old heartstrings when Syed talked of Masood's gambling and Zainab's tacit complicity in this, saying that they're not perfect either. Do you think he still feels that his own homosexuality is something which makes him less than perfect, a flaw which he has simply accepted he has to live with? I guess this is to be expected in a way - after all, he was brought up to believe that being gay is an aberration and old beliefs die hard - but I'd like to think that at some point he'll come to see the beauty in all parts of himself. I wonder whether this is something we may see explored if and when Chryed adopt/ have a child, as I would imagine Syed will be asking serious questions of himself and Christian in terms of how, and with which belief system he would wish that child to be raised.

I knew it was coming, but I squeaked in frustration when the scene ended so abruptly after Christian brought up the idea of adoption. Normally I wouldn't care, but knowing that we're now not going to see Syed for at least two weeks and therefore are going to miss out on the crucial discussion of this life-changing matter...gah.
