Neil Tennant has so much tallent he has production values that others just dream of. He is not the best singer in the world but what he does is of such a rich and high standard. He has so many layers to his work that he is pure gold. 10 out of 10.

i'm old enoughto have been a fan from from the West End Girls days

I agree Very is one of their best albums though I think Nightlife's a bit of an under rated classic. My all time PSB singles list changes so often but as of now would look like this..

West End Girls
Left to my own devices
Love comes quickly
Can you forgive her
You only tell me..
What have I done....
It's a sin
Se a vida e
Miracles
So hard

Another fan here - they have been consistently great throughout their career and don't seem to show any signs of stopping.

Agreed 100%, he is a fabulous songwriter. I agree, his voice isn't the best you'll ever hear, but what I love about it is that its honest. When he sings he sings from the heart as songs like Jealousy show.

I love the PSBs!! Saw them live last year for the first time and they were incredible. I now looking for Take That tickets just so I can see them support them

Whilst I agree that Neil is a great songwriter etc I don't think Chris should be overlooked. He is an exceptional musician and producer

I don't think I could choose a favourite song and album though.

I hated them and then got used to them when I was with my ex. After 4 years I left that relationship a big fan. Favourite songs would be:

Can you forgive her
Closer to heaven
The way it used to be
Why don't we live together

You must!! I took a non PSB fan to see them with me last year and he left totally converted. One of the best shows i've ever seen.

Catalogue is briliant! Every artist should release a book like this. They put so much care and attention into everything including their artwork. I also got it for a bargain price of £5 from HMV a few years ago

One of my favourite groups of all time.

What I also love about Neil and Chris is that they love music so much and are so informed (musically).

Top 5 tracks would be (roughly in order):
Heart(they wrote this with Madonna in mind apparatently but kept it for themselves in the end).
Love Comes Quickly
What have I Done (with Dusty)
Domino Dancing
Left to My Own Devices

Very much one of my favourite groups. I was one of the very first people to see them when PSB performed at the Fridge in Brixton. Many years later I was actually talking to Neil, in the Fridge - again!, when he was promoting Cicero. I mentioned that I'd seen this early performance and how raw they were (which I really liked). He said he thought that they were crap!!!

I absolutely love their new album. I'm still listening to it now. My favourite all time track is 'Being boring'. I actually understood what the lyrics were about and it was very pertinent for the time. It's made me cry a few times.

Liza's 'Results' is one of my favourites too. I actually went to see her in concert, at the Albert Hall, and then went to the Market Tavern in the evening. A perfect night!

I've promised myself next tour I am going even if I have to walk on hot coals to get there They better do New York City Boy, I adore that song

£5 I paid £25 for it on amazon about 6 months ago - it is absolutely amazing but - my dad would only be a sort of casual fan but he was like when he seen it

Oh... i feel a list coming on!!!!!!

Deep breath... Ok here goes!!!

Now Thats What I Call PSB's Top 20: And remember, Neil Tennant is an AMAZING songwriter, so, to back up my claim, I'll include some proof...

1. Love Comes Quickly " You can fly away to the edge of the world, But where does it get you to? Cos just when you least expect it... Waiting round the corner for you..." 12" version

2. Tonight Is Forever "Then out again, another night, we'll never have enough.... It could be like this forever- when we fall in love" (Liza's version reigns supreme, but its a PSB production),many many tears shed listening to this ...

3. Rent "But look at my hopes, look at my dreams, the currency we've spent - I love you-you pay my rent" 12" version.
4. Can You Forgive Her? "Shes made you some kind of laughing stock- because you dance to disco and you dont like rock"
5. Liberation - "Really I believed it true, that all who fell in love were foolish"
6. Being Boring " When you're young, you find inspiration,in anyone thats gone, and opened up, a closing door" (really wordy song, but quite beautiful too.)
7. Left To My Own Devices
8. What Have I Done To Deserve This?
9. So Hard " we've both given up smoking- cos its fatal, So who's matches are those?" one of the best lyrics EVER!
10. Jealousy
11. Don Juan
12. West End Girls
13. Se A Vida E
14. To Face The Truth
15. One More Chance
16. Only The Wind
17. To step Aside
18. Suburbia
19. Nervously
20. I want A Dog

Theres too many more to mention...

Please count me in - I adore them!

To my shame *gulps* I didn't used to like them for a long, long time - it took a PSB loving boyfriend to guide me along that path and now I think I'm a "Fan" with a capital F...

Favourite songs? That's a tricky tricky question... Where on earth to start?

I've also seen "It Couldn't Happen Here".

A fantastic group!

Great list, AdamDowds

They always have a knack of producing great b-sides which would have been fine singles in their own right...

One of my favourite PSB tracks is 'It's Alright'. The live version on the Concrete CD is fantastic.
I love just about all their songs though. I first got into them when they released Flamboyant but had always been aware of tracks like It's a Sin and Devices from when i was a kid.

I won't even start about their b-sides. Some of those are better than the a-side in some cases!!

To be honest the only track i'm not fussed of it West End Girls - It's iconic, but not the track i'd choose to listen too.

Favourite albums? Very (If only for 'The Theatre'!), Nightlife, Fundamental or Billingual.

PopArt is one of the best CDs in my collection.
