it kinda bugs me when you have a group like PSB having to play second fiddle to a group like Take That and I'm quite surprised they've agreed to do it but there you go (and that isn't being dismissive of TT's achievements).

Never been much of a fan of It's Alright personally, maybe because it wasn't written by them, it always felt a bit out of place on the Introspective album IMO.

I didn't care much for Yes either, on the whole is was too light and frothy, so I'm hoping they'll come back with something completely the opposite of that. And I dunno how long Together had been kicking around but it has to be their worst single, so I'm really hoping for something a lot better than that.

Good to see a thread about Pet Shop Boys on here. For me personally their body of work is up there to be compared with anyone, not just the songs under their own name but the songs they have done for other people is a hell of a back catalogue.

Is their any other artist that if you speak to their fans have as many contenders for best song ever? (mine is It's a sin but if someone said Jealosy or The Theatre for example it would be a fair shout)

I was also surprised to see them support Take That but it is very good exposure (i heard Chris Evans play a montage of songs on his breakfast show on Friday) and if even only 1 or 2% of people attending these concerts go and buy an Album it would add up to a good amount of sales.

I went to see The Killers a couple of years ago wearing a Rammstein T-Shirt and someone asked me if i liked PSB's, how many other bands can be connected from those 2 extremes?

Love the PSB!

In the eighties me and my mate followed them round the UK on their tour - absolutely, stunningly, brilliant every night!

That sounds like fun.

That's about the same view I had when I saw them at the O2 a couple of years ago. Can't believe they're still doing the Pandemonium tour after nearly 3 years. They need a new set.

Was surprised to see the PSBs lowering themselves to support act, but I suppose once you've got your BRIT lifetime achievement award, nothing really matters anymore.

Watching my Pandemonium tour DVD - absolutely love that tour!

Why they never performed One and One Make Five live though I will never understand....

They've confirmed that they've been writing new music whilst touring with Take That. Their last tour date with them is a week from now so hoping that when they get back they'll start properly working on the new album

Absolutely agree. Reminds me of sunshine and freedom and carefree days.

I love the Pet Shop Boys and I love Take that also...

They're back from supporting Take That now, far as I know they were writing new music whilst on tour so they'll start working on the new album soon enough I think

Morten Harket - Listening (Feat. Neil Tennant)

I like this so much - reminds me a little of I Get Along.

Absolutely the best band ever. Neil has a fabulous way with words, even if not the best singer, and probably one of best lyricists of the modern age. Appreciate Chris for what it puts behind it all, I think some of their tracks are quite complex.

Been a huge fan since the very beginning with West End Girls and although I listen to other music, I always return to the PSB. I just regret I've never yet seen them live.

It was poorly received but the film It Couldn't Happen Here was brilliant and I'm looking forward to watching it again very soon as just ordered a copy of it a few nights ago.

As for favourite songs... so so many and in no particular order:

Always On My Mind
Jealousy
Red Letter Day
In Denial
Heart
Pandemonium
The Truck Driver and His Mate
Hit and Miss
Flamboyant
Somewhere
The Theatre
Surburbia (The Full Horror Mix)
Domino Dancing
Go West
Building A Wall
I Get Along
Losing My Mind
Shameless
