It's a great album IMO. Here's hoping they can shift the 1500 copies that stand between them and Robin Thicke for the number 1 spot.

It is a great piece of work when heard in one go but I think Fluorescent lets it down and The Last to Die is only saved by the 'la la la' bits.

Have no money at all to buy it yet, and have seen it in my local independent record shop, so will get it when the funds arrive.

I didn't think I'd like Example's rap but it does add to the song and Thursday is definitely one of the best tracks on the album.

Electric went in at number 3.

Still their highest charting album since their first b-sides compilation, Alternative, reached number 2, back in 1995.

Good on them!

(Loving the album, btw)

the album is great! such positive critical acclaim too....it is looking like it will feature in many critics top 20 albums of the year!!!

what are peoples fave tracks?

mine are ....
1. Bolshy (this ultra diva PSB elctro)
2. thursday
3. shout
4. axis (pure electro)
5. love is a
6. fluorescent

i really like 'vocal' but oddly the vocal needs reverb or echo...it seems too dry in the mix? Maybe a remix will help.

I finally got hold of a copy, at last! ASDA haven't got it and aren't bothering to as they are 'not as popular as they used to be', they are number THREE in the charts, hello?

Anyway I am really pleased with the album I think it' s Stuart Price's finest production, he and PSB work so well together.

Favourite tracks are

Axis
Bolshy
Love Is A Borgeois Construct
Fluorescent
Thursday
Vocal

in fact ....... i love the WHOLE thing!

Aw, what a shame, that's a long drop isn't it? Still, it did well to get to number 3.

Will the Pet Shop Boys ever have another US top 40 hit or not?

openly gay British synth pop acts close to their 60s do not have US top 40 hits because American radio would see them as poison. Cruel but true. In a chart like Billboard where radio play is a big component they have no chance at all even it they had singles sales behind them (which they don't). They're hard put to get any kind of hit now in the UK charts which are solely sales driven. Again because Radio 1 will not touch them (too old, too out of fashion and probably too gay). I wish it were otherwise
