Quick Help: Humax Foxsat HDR Question!

I was wondering if there was a way to unlock extra channels on the Humax Foxsat HDR 500gb model. I am not talking about Sky, cause I know thats virtually impossible without a receiver with the decryptor, but I was wondering about unlocking other subscription channels (such as the sports ones in other countries, eg America or France or other countries that show english football ).

Also does the freesat receive any freeview channels such as Virgin 1 or not?

Thanks in advance

EDIT: PS. I am new to Digital Spy so hello everyone, and be nice on me this time :P

I am a little confused with your post as you appear to want access to encrypted SKY channels and FREEVIEW channels on the Foxsat HDR.

If you are meaning can you access other Free to Air (FTA) satellite channels on the Foxsat the answer is yes. If they are encrypted then the answer is no.

To access other FTA channels you need to set it up to access all channels, ie not use FREESAT mode. If you want foreign channels, unless they are on the Astra/Eurobird satellite configuration and FTA.

I believe it is possible to set up the Foxsat to receive additional satellites using a multiple LNB set-up with a DiSEqC switch or motorised dish. But to be perfectly honest you would be as well to do a set up like this with a Dreambox or similar.

regarding accessing FREEVIEW channels. Impossible as FREEVIEW is terrestrial broadcasting not satellite.

I hope this helps. I am sure someone with a lot more expertise than me will add further replies.

The Foxsat HDR does have a CAM slot so if any of the subscription channels (ESPN?) work with a CAM subscription card then that is one way.

Through the cam slot I did hear you can use a sky card. But you need to put it in an old sky box every so often as after 30 days sky will deactivate the card.

You also need a suitable CAM.

Thanks for the replies. I am new to this, I used to have sky (with +) and I do still have the subscription card. Can you guide me through how to get this please?

Perhaps theres a guide, its just I am quite clueless in this sort of this, also whats a CAM (is it Conditional-access module?)
