Loving BT vision
I've now had BT Vision for just over a week, coming to it from freeview. (I've never had a cable or satellite package before)
I absolutely love it; I love the choice of on-demand content, I love the ease of use of the whole UI; it works a treat. I don't watch enough TV to justify spending nearly twice the cost of this package for Sky. I do have a few questions, how often is the on demand series' replaced. I.E the shield season 4 (massive shield fan so was happy to see this on there) was on there but expired on the 29th of April, since i've not seen season 5 or any program for that matter replacing it, will it ever be replaced and if so whats the general time scale? Also some programs like 24 seasons 5&6 don't seem to be attached to an on-demand channel, at least i cant see them in the list, does On demand (along with channels) cherry pick certain content to just put up alongside the channels and what they offer from within? Going to order the sports viewing card and Sky sports tomorrow i think. A week in and so far loving it! |

new content gets added every thursday, there is a menu somewhere that lets you see whats coming on in the next 4 or 5 months, obviously it does not list everything, but for instance it will tell you if 24 season 7 is coming in june or not, i`m waiting for the pacific which i believe is june

I took it on recently after Virgin annoyed me enough to leave.
The internet side of the package is OK, the vision box is a basic freeview receiver / recorder than doesn't receive HD, although the BT sales rep assured me it did. This is now being looked into by BT. Seems to be a poor mans V+ box. I haven't subscribed to any packages. BT's indian call centres don't impress me either. I only took it on as it wasn't possible to transfer the phone number to the ISP I really wanted. The connection is 8Mb and I'm suprised BT don't know when their own exchanges ae due to upgrade to 20Mb. I won't be keeping it after the contract runs out when I will be off to O2 or Plusnet. Or maybe even Virgin again if they can offer me TIVO at a sensible price and show signs of improving their customer service. |

I couldn't care less where a call centre is based personally so long as they can do they job. |

Did Virgin Media's Indian call centres impress you?, maybe not as your last line says 'Or maybe even Virgin again if they can offer me TIVO at a sensible price and show signs of improving their customer service'
I couldn't care less where a call centre is based personally so long as they can do they job. Which is why O2 and Plusnet are front runners next year or maybe even this outfit. http://www.thephone.coop/ Three companies who don't make you talk to clueless Indians speaking broken english. I'm sure Richer Sounds will still be selling Freeview HD receivers / recorders next year, maybe something like this http://www.richersounds.com/product/...sony-svrhdt500 Virgin will have to be good for me to go back. |

Cheers for the advice guys.
I've got another query, when I ordered it online, BT were convinced I could only get 9 freeview channels and would not be able to receive SS or ESPN, now I can in fact and always have been able to receive every freeview channel perfectly well, is this often the case with the Sky sports channels and Espn and its just some sort of fault with the website, i'd rather not order it and pay for diddly squat and im guessing if they can check coverage over the phone, they'll tell me the same thing, it just seems odd. Secondly, i presume theres no discernible differences between sky sports on BT vision and via sky in terms of quality et al? How often does it take for the Viewing card to arrive once ordered, under a week? |

In the past ESPN did have some issues in some areas in terms of quality but I'm not sure what things are like now. |

You can search the on demand and there is a section called coming soon, you can check quite far ahead to what is coming I have tried to check at work about Shield but cant find a release date for season 5 |
