That might have been the one we just had! The original Big Deal was a Quiz show then teleshopping then the film channel which might have needed an updated licence.

Surely though the original license would have been updated for tview as it had the same name.

I suspect this is a new channel coming soon myself. Going by the history of big deal if I am right then this has got to be bad news for freeview.

They could even be doing another LCN squat and launch for 1 hour like some of there other channels.

I suppose they might have got hold of the 24/7 slot on post DSO Arq A?

Very possible.

But I hope its either a license for a LCN squat so it take an hour at most or your first suggestion so it dont launch or something worthwhile appears on the channel.

The new one is classified as:
Content: Category B, Editorial, General Entertainment, Psychic

Which seems to be pretty much what Big Deal was when it expanded. I agree that this is the same channel, just a new licence so they aren't restricted to only showing teleshopping.

Have to say I disagree. I have observed the big deal license though all the change of content. The content part on the license changed a few days after they changed what was shown on the channel. They kept updating it.

That proves they can update the use on the license. So its very unlikely that 1 channel will have 2 licenses.

Also just because the current content is listed the same on the licenses is no sign that there for the same channel.

As this is a separate license it looks to me like we are getting a big deal 2, the question becomes when and what will be on it.

Also the current use on the big deal license is the same as big deal 2 Category B, Editorial, General Entertainment, Psychic

Didn't realise that, probably is a new channel then unfortunately.

Do Square 1 Management really want to stay with the name Big Deal? The brand hasn't exactly got a good reputation
