HTC Wildfire
My old dumb phone is on its last legs thinking of purchasing a HTC wildfire. Been ding some digging around seems like a good phone but I read that the screen Resolution: 240 x 320 QVGA is not all that good.I am not interested in social networking at all and if I do any surfing it will be mostly through
WiFi at home.I currently do prepaid now. with o2 in Germany. Would any one that has the HTC Wildfire recamend this phone. Thanks Schnuffi |

I bought one recently and I love it! I've never noticed a problem with the resolution and I surf quite a lot on it. Would definitely recommend it!

Thanks I donīt know much about android but will most likely purchase this mobile from amazon.de.
So the default language will be in German can the language be changed to English? Or would it make more sence to purchase the phone from the UK. |

My best mate and I have one. It is a great smart 'phone. Battery doesn't last five minutes but it does do a lot of work running all those great applications.

Mine is charged twice a day and I don't play music all that often. I use the camera, use Kindle to read my books on the bus and a few apps which use GPS. |

Thanks for the reply I am guessing then that the gps takes a lot of power and if it was mostly turned off the battery would last longer. On that note can the screen be turned off If I am listing to mp3 I don't need to see the screen while I am working.
Also the battery isn't the best but like you said it's the GPS which drains it the most, it does however charge pretty quickly.

The Wlidfire S is an improvement over the original but for that kind of money i would buy an HTC Desire bigger screen faster CPU and probably cheaper than the Wildfire S.

Well one of the big selling points for this phone is that it is smaller it will fit in your pocket.
Wild fire s cost 274 http://www.amazon.de/HTC-Wildfire-Sm...4445531&sr=8-3 HTC Desire the standard one (cheapest ) cost 350 http://www.amazon.de/HTC-Desire-Smar...4445731&sr=8-1 The one thing I donīt know is if they keep the same battery with a higher resolution screen and a faster processor then the battery wonīt last at all |

Not sure if you can get it in Germany but the ZTE Blade has a much better screen (800x400) and better all round spec than the Wildfire for less money. It is very easy to customise as well. Camera is not very good though but you can't have everything. Also the Moto Defy is better than the Wildfire for only a little bit more. Just thought you might like some options.

I used to have a Wildfire and the screen res drove me nuts. You can get a Desire on cheap contracts nowadays (as I did) so its probably worth keeping that in mind. The screen is bigger with a better res and the processor is much faster.
