I've just installed the TVersity media server on my PC and I want my blu-ray player to see it on the network, what do I do???

Edit: Just noticed in the server messages that the server has detected the blu-ray player. How do I get the player to detect the server?

Page 16 of the manual explains how to do it, assuming the system you have set up on your computer is DLNA compatible.

Hmm, so basically the server should just appear alongside BBC iPlayer, Demand 5, etc? It doesn't

On the TVersity FAQ webpage is a a section about what to do if a device cannot detect the server.

http://tversity.com/support/faq/

Click the General Troubleshooting link at the top of the page and it is the second entry under there. Might offer some help.

OK, some progress, I had to set up port forwarding manually (I thought uPnP was doing it but apparently not) and the player can now see the server. However it is unable to connect, I get the message;
"the server is currently starting up. Please wait."
followed by;
"Cannot start server"

Wow, it just worked first time!!!

Shame it doesn't show how far through the file you are (makes it hard to fast forward to a particular point) but it works great!
