Worth Getting a HTC Sensation?
What are people's views on this phone? I'm desperate for a new phone and to pre-order this off of Vodafone.
I currently have an Nokia N97 so I have no idea really how to use an Andriod? Is it easy to pick up on how to do all the tricks and that? Also, with the touchscreen keyboard will you be able to type in landscape and will this be easy? Will it be expandable upto 32GB too? |

Going from Nokia to HTC is like going from a reliant robin to a ferrari.
I'd say do it. You won't look back. |

Yes we all know it's the phone you have... How about attempting to answer the ops question!the Sensation looks like a nice phone, I doubt you would be disappointed. |

Android is very easy to pick up, lots of help on different sites such as XDA. You should be able to type in landscape. I do it with my Desire using swiftkey, and have not had any problems. I have already placed my pre-order for the Sensation, so yeah, do it! |

Do it. How have you lasted on a N97? I hated that phone. The money I got from selling it, I got a HTC Desire and have not looked back.

N97 wasn't a terrible phone, Symbian is now showing it's age though. I'm looking forward to seeing Nokia's windows 7 phones.
Symbian is a dead OS walking. |

I swapped from Nokia to a HTC Desire last year. Best thing I ever did. It was my first Android too.
It will take you seconds to get your head round it. They are very intuitive and set up is so easy. Get yourself a google mail account to sync your e mail calendar and contacts and enjoy the fun of HTC. HTC Sence is just anazing. I'm going for the Sensation when Orange start doing it in the summer. Can't wait. |

Alright guys, either way I can't get it till June cause I just don't have the money or time :/
To be fair, the only reason I've kept my N97 is cause I find texting so easy on it but I'm starting to get bored with its OS...I just want something new to blow my mind! Any other good phones on par with the HTC Sensation due out or is that it for the time being? |

Sorry couldn't resist that. The LG Optimus 2X and Samsung Galaxy SII are both out now. In the last couple of days I have used both. Now the LG is a fine phone (dual core 1 gig processor 4" display) but is no way a match for the Samy (dual cor 1.2 gig 4.3" eye wateringly bright amoled screen and super thin). The Sammy is actually cheaper as PAYG but unless the LG was way cheaper the Sammy would be the one to have. However the HTC will feel more solid. Go down to a phone shop and have a play with what they have in. If you like the HTCs that they have in get that as the Sensation will be the sam but even better. ANd believe me are you in for a treat with any of these phones after the N97.

Other good phones due out are the Blackberry Bold 9900 with Blackberry OS7, iPhone 5 with iOS 5, Windows Phone 7.5 Nokia handsets. All those will be due this year, a good year for phones IMO. |

Other dual core phones now look a better bet with the rumour that the Sensation's bootloader prevents custom ROM's.
HTC might have more luck than the similarly locked Motorola Defy, which seemingly had to reach bargain price level on order to start selling. |

I've always had Nokia til last year when i was tempted to dip my toe into Android with the cheap San Francisco. Couldn't be easier to operate and I've not for one second looked back. Am now thinking of upgrading to either the sensation or galaxy s2. Had a play with the s2 but am not entirely keen on the plastic back. Wonder if there will be other backs you can buy when it becomes more popular. Either way, am waiting for comparison reviews to come out to make a descision.

Anyone thinking of getting the Sensation and who might want to put custom ROMs on, hold fire until the smart folks have worked out how to unlock the bootloader. It's been confirmed today it's using HTC's security key.

I got an HTC running Android and its the best phone I have ever had - my wife is totally hopeless with 'tecchy' things and she had a play around with mine and loved it so I got her one and believe me she has problems using the Sky TV remote - yet even she can use the Android system
my Desire is now out of contract and really dont see any of the new smartphones offering very much extra over my original Desire I would not even consider for a second going back to a windows phone - memories of endless resets on my last 2 windows phones is still very clear in my memory Android is the future IMHO now if they could just make the battery last a bit longer LOL my 2p |

I would love the sensation but i wouldn't upgrade through Orange as it would probably be loaded with their bloatware which is a shame.
