If you could only have one meat...
what would it be?
My favourite meal is a nice juicy steak with chips and chicken is quick and versitile but if I could only choose one it would have to be Pig. Pork chops, ribs, roast, crackling, pork scratchings, gammon, ham... BACON!!!! Mmmmmmmmm........ |

Definitely Chicken.
It's so versatile as well as low fat. |

So are we talking one type of meat or one type of animal? Steak is a type of cut of beef but then you list all the different pork cuts. If it's meat I'd go for Ribeye steak but if it's animal I agree with the pig.If I'm being pedantic please tell me to P**s off!

I actually should have put species. I guess some people might like to live off a certain fish or seafood for the rest of their life

![]() Haddock would be my number two meat although I normally deep fry it in batter. I use rapeseed oil though which is quite healthy. |

Hmm, when I read the thread title I immediately thought chicken - drumsticks, wings and thighs only though. None of that overpriced breast yuckiness! (imo)
![]() But then I saw the first post and I would really miss pork... How do you choose? eek! |

I'm just glad I don't have to choose...but if I did, it would have to be beef.
Would really miss lamb though, and bacon, and crackling, and roast chicken, and... |

oooh, sausages! eek... I still can't decide as roasted chicken thighs (with skin) with a coating I do is only of my favourite meals.
But I couldn't imagine never eating pork again... eek! Apart from steaks, I could go without beef though. Oh and burgers.. and beef goulash... damn... no, couldn't imagine not having beef either. lol! Roast lamb too, yum... One thing I can be certain off... I will never be vegetarian.

Got to be pork. Even though I don't cook pork joints, chops, fillet etc very often, I don't think I could manaage without sausages, bacon & ham for long. Parma ham mmmmm.

Chicken for me. I don't know what happened to me but all of a sudden I became as I couldn't stomach pork, beef and lamb. Even typing the word pork makes me feel sick. Bizarrely though I am fine with bacon and ham.... but yeah chicken would be my choice. I shall never tire of chicken.

The only time I feel sick when I hear/read "pork" is when I see or remember a scene from Whose Line Is It Anyway?
Interesting icecream flavours: Mmmmm...... have you tried the pork?

I have been pondering this question ..... and i cant decide.
I initially thought chicken as i eat chicken A LOT. I cant imagine never having it again. But I love a good steak, and i love roast beef. But then i dont know if i could live without a good pork sausage or bacon. I think i will stick with chicken though. My husband would pick beef i think. |

Does this include fish or is that extra. If it's extra I'd go for chichen - dull but reliable. If not I'd have fish.

Chicken - there is just so much you can do with it!
I do love Pork though, and Steak... Not too keen on Lamb but I do really fancy it occasionally (I also love Kofte) and of course Turkey has to be there as well (I don't have it often but when I do it is delish!) |

Would have to be pig.
I love other meats, but pork is very versatile. Sausages, bacon, crackling, my mums sausage roll .... drool. Would miss steak, roast lamb, chicken kievs, venison burgers etc, but pork definately has most options, and theres no reason you can't make chilli, bolognese, burgers etc with pork mince. |
