How much might you pay for bacon roll and a coffee or similar breakfast/lunch?
It popped into my head because I'm going to the airport tomorrow where it cost me £4.70. It's only a small airport in a small place, therefore I felt the price was pretty steep. I know in some places that's cheap/ish.

When I bought that and got to Inverness, I had lasagne, chips, peas and I think a diet irn-bru in Tesco for about £5.10 and it looked so good a tourist saw what I had and went for the same. It was really good too.

Even though I am 34, I guess it only feels like yesterday that I could have got two bacon rolls and a pot of tea or coffee for two for not much more or less than £4.70

Okay, I sound old now.

Lol, I just found this. I guess I was very lucky to have it before I landed in Inverness:

The most expensive bacon roll?
Published: 06 March, 2009
Sir, Before a recent flight from Inverness airport we headed to the airport cafe to have a quick bite to eat.

advertising

On ordering three coffees and three bacon rolls we were charged over £20. Thinking there must have been a mistake we asked for a receipt and sure enough, there in black and white was the price, £4.49 for a bacon roll! At that price you would at least expect a decent roll and hot bacon!

Surely this must be Scotland's most expensive bacon buttie?http://www.inverness-courier.co.uk/n...con_roll_.html

Airports etc always bump up prices as they know people will pay it, no point comparing it to Tescos.

Yeah, international airports. Smaller ones who's cafe's tend to be run by local businesses tend to be more fair. Or they used to.

I would theorise that a higher proportion of smaller airports custom is from business travellers, who are claiming expenses and therefore they are able to get away with less complaints/loss of custom.

I knew a guy who had a wallet made from circumcised foreskins. When he rubbed it, it became a suitcase
