iOS 4.3.3 Released by Apple
As expected and promised, Apple have just released iOS 4.3.3 to address privacy concerns which came to light recently about location data being stored on your device and backed up unencrypted to your computer, and tracking continuously even if the Location Services setting was turned off.
Apparently now it makes the location cache much smaller, no longer communicates the data to iTunes and deletes the cache entirely if location services is set to off. It's for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, iPad 1&2, and iPod Touch (3rd+4th gen). This update purely addresses the location caching issue, and is not thought to contain any other bug fixes or changes. http://news.cnet.com/8301-27076_3-20059752-248.html |

Doubt I will bother getting the update then... The location cache doesn't bother me.
I'm glad Apple updated it for those who did. |

Presumably the location issue only affects the iPad (1&2) with 3G and not with WiFi only?
I ask because I'm not too sure why someone with a WiFi only iPad or iTouch should be concerned. |
