Humax HDR - Where's STB Mode gone?

I'm trying to get into non-Freesat mode but the STB Mode option has disappeared from the Settings menu. I'm on the .15 firmware, so has that got anything to do with it?

No, sounds as if you did a reset. The option is only present if you have manually added channels. A manual tune should restore the option.

Do you mean, literally, a Manual tune, or a manually initiated Freesat tune?

A manual tune, a freesat tune only affects freesat mode. If you use the defaults you will get hundreds of channels. This will leave you in non-freesat with your missing option to go back to freesat mode.

Thanks Graham.

This does happen if (like me also on 1.00.15) you had only one non freesat channel (like 4HD) and it no longer exists as a non freesat -leaving no freesat channels tuned..

Hey Repassac never thought of that, nice one . Explains the odd post nicely.

Doing a manual retune did the trick, as suggested.

I never usually bother with the non-Freesat mode, but I had originally done a manual tune when I first had the HDR, just to see what was there. Now though, I have a need to be able to watch STV next Monday night after my recording of Case Sensitive (Part 2) got dumped by 'a recording with a higher priority'. I hate those conflicts; I never know which one to cancel, if any. It usually sorts itself out correctly, but not last Tuesday; CS was aborted in favour of the just-finishing recording on BBC2. Grrrr!

Have you checked to see if it's playable? One of the UI quirks of this box is that it labels the recording as failed, and fails to generate a thumbnail, if any part of the recording was missed - even just a few seconds off the start.

Yes, it was playable - the trouble was, it was only 1 minute long!
