I feel the Final Destination films run in the correct order of how good they are; first one is the best and the fourth is horrendous.

The problem with the fourth film was that the deaths were CGI-laden and felt very cartoonish.

Hope the fifth film proves better!

I hate the way they now cater for the dimmest members of the audience by describing exactly what the next death scene will be, whereas originally they just hinted at what might happen, it kinda spoils the fun.

The problem with these movies now is that it doesn't allow any characters to be developed. Characters are introduced in the "premonition", then are usually only ever seen again at their death scene. That's why I preferred the first two because in FD1, all the characters were "friends" thus they had a bunch of scenes together before they all got killed, and in FD2 there were alot of times the group were together, too. It felt like they were a team, worrying about their safety and how to overcome death whereas in the latter movies it just seems like the focus is on two or three "main" characters who go about trying to save (but ultimately failing to) the other survivors.

The first three were all really good but the fourth was god-awful. The script was terrible.

Woman says to kids misbehaving "I've got my EYE on you two" before a rock slams into her eye spraying her kids in bits of the eye. (Presumably)

Also, particularly funny was when Mykelti Williamson's character says he's been trying to kill himself all day. His delivery was just so funny.

FD5 looks pretty damn good though.

Great to see Tony Todd back in FD5. I'm hoping now that thsi film will be a success and make up for the comedy-like disaster of the last instalment. The least said about 4, the better.

Like in the first film where the opening credits subtly depicted each death and the third with the photos taken at the theme park. Can't remember if the second did anything like that.

1 & 3 were my faves in the series. Hopefully this one will prove to be another good odd-numbered FD film!

For me it doesn't get more disturbing than in FD3, when Phoenix get's caught in the sunbed!! Anyone else have a favourite death?

The problem for me is that every sequel bar the first has felt like gore-porn for the sake of $$$, whereas the first film managed to be 10x lighter on the gore, but 10x more disturbing than any of the sequels combined, mostly because the first film was actually a really good psychological thriller.

I enjoyed it enough to look forward to "Final Destination 2", which was good, but killing of Ali Larters character was unforgivable.

The film had some interesting characters, and at least attempted to expand the story a little bit.

Loved the first 3 films, great acting, scripts and deaths. Also loved the dark undertone throughout them though 4 was just horrible acting, scipt and deaths and the ending has to be one of the worst. I'm glad they are making this new one because it would of been a real shitty way to finish the franchise for fans of the movies. Another problem with 4 was that it was trying to hard to fit in with modern movies today, my fear with 5 is that because 4 did so well then will try and replicate that as much as they can which is sad. The trailer doesn't excite me alot (seems quite similar to 4) so here's hoping I'm wrong. Final Destiniation 3 was the best, one of the best horror films around ! And please no 3-D crap Sorry for my little rant love Final Destination really :P

1 & 2 were really good, 3 wasn't bad though you started to know what to expect.

I haven't seen 4 yet.

Were they really?

my problem with the final destination films is that theyve turned them into a variation of the saw movies.

where there is no interest in characterization, they briefly introduce a bunch of people at the start then the next time we see them theyre being killed in the most ridiculous inhumane fashion

but its meaningless because we know nothing about them.

And no doubt the deaths in the fifth movie will be written to enhance their effectiveness in 3D as opposed to any actual dramatic or storyline demands

But then what more can you expect from a fifth installment of a horror franchise.

But the fun of the movies is trying to second guess the deaths Although I have been mentally scarred by the sunbed ones, they were by far the worst for me! My favourite is the second one, I thought the motorway pile up was brilliantly done, and who can forget the boy's trip to the dentist and how it ended?

What about the classic shower death in Final Destination 1!! The car pile up is great though.

The first one was genuinely chilling. The second movie was saved by the motorway pile up. The third was kinda ok but not great and the fourth well...it sucked
