I have been meaning to listen to his stuff for a long time, but I just never got around to it.

He is (or was) local to me so it's even more incentive to check his stuff out.

I absolutely adore IAMX. Not really sure how I stumbled across them, but it's exactly the kind of music I love, and Chris Corner really can sing. I love his voice on some of the acoustic versions he's done, in particular

I think his voice conveys so much passion. At the moment (and off the new album) I love listening to Bernadette http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UQsokUXZnw

IAMX is great. Loved his previous album 'Kingdom of Welcome Addiction' especially the songs 'My Secret Friend' and 'Think of England'. It is a shame his albums are normally expensive to get hold of.

I've been a huge IAMX fan since June 2008 (having been introduced to him by a fellow Depeche Mode fan) and attended my first gig in Germany on June 21, 2009. It was absolutely amazing!

When I read that it was the solo project of former Sneaker Pimps co-founder and lead singer Chris Corner I just said, "Really?!" as I loved '6 Underground' when it was in the charts. He has an absolutely FANTASTIC voice and the lyrics are so meaningful.

I usually get my CDs from 'Boutique IAMX' or I sometimes check discogs.com. I also went into HMV one day in late 2008 and actually saw a copy of the UK/US version of 'The Alternative' so I bought it immediately. I've also seen other items (now that HMV sells them) but they are still so expensive!

That's why I just stick to ordering the CDs from 'Boutique IAMX' as it's much cheaper.

Just discovered IAMX via the excellent new album Metanoia.

Any recommendations for other IAMX albums to try?

All of them! *lol* Here's a breakdown of all the albums so far to give you an idea:

1) Kiss + Swallow - Contains some songs that were originally meant for the unreleased fourth Sneaker Pimps album. Almost completely electronic, incorporating driving synth-rock and groove-based, erotic electro. Includes the singles 'Kiss and Swallow', 'Your Joy Is My Low', 'Missile'. The album was re-released in 2006 with bonus tracks 'I-Polaroids' and the Moonbootica remix of 'Kiss and Swallow' as well as the video for 'Missile'.

2) The Alternative - Contains some songs that were originally meant for the unreleased fourth Sneaker Pimps album. Falls into the electronic, synthpop, dark cabaret and alternative rock genres. My personal favourite album which includes the singles 'The Alternative', 'Nightlife', 'Spit It Out' and 'President'. The album was re-released in 2008 with some of the tracks remixed or re-recorded and it also includes a string version of 'Spit It Out' as a hidden track.

3) Kingdom of Welcome Addiction - The first IAMX album to feature all-new songs. Rockier in sound than the first 2 albums but with dark cabaret and neo-glam influences. Includes the singles 'Think of England', 'Tear Garden' and 'My Secret Friend' featuring the amazing Imogen Heap.

4) Volatile Times - Still retains the dark cabaret aspect but is more experimental and electronic. Includes the singles 'Ghosts of Utopia', 'Bernadette' and 'Volatile Times'.

5) The Unified Field - Sounds quite acoustic in places and experimental with art rock influences but retains the dark cabaret aspect. Includes the singles 'The Unified Field/Quiet The Mind', 'I Come With Knives' and 'Come Home'.

There's also the 'Dogmatic Infidel Comedown OK' remix album (the title is an anagram of 'Kingdom of Welcome Addiction') and the 'Live In Warsaw' album where you can hear how good Chris' voice is live - however this album is out of print but I guess it can be found on Discogs.

Hope this gives you a good idea of what to expect!
