Morning rhumba

I agree with you concerning why and what christians proposal means and why he does it. To me it comes as you say from a place of love.

Surely, even if i comes from a wish to provide syed with a family and security that is an act of supreme love.

bib this.

Ian and Jane argue bitterly following his outburst - not realising that Bobby can hear every word they are saying - and Masood tries to convince Zainab that she can trust him
Good luck with that Masood
Thanks love It is scratched but hoping that might lessen with a good wash and polish. And luckily it is a light coloured car so scratches don't show up that badly like darker ones.

Just a question. Does anyone else not really feel sorry for Jane? I mean she has been just as bad as Ian - she had an affair with Grant, kissed Masood and then almost slept with the guy. She also plays games like she accuses Ian of doing (ie, squirreling away money secretly so she can run off). It takes two to tango and I'm actually quite tired of her always acting like the victim in all this. She also made a decision to leave Ian and divorce him, so why is she still living in the same house as him if she loathes and detests him as much as she claims? I mean the atmosphere is so toxic, I'm surprised Bobby is still alive and breathing!!
I don't feel sorry for Jane or Ian, they're as bad as each other. The only person in that house I feel sorry for is Bobby. Lucy & Peter had a lucky escape!
Morning all:yawn:

I may or may not have slept right through my alarm clock this morning, it may or may not have stopped bleeping at me when I carried on sleeping for at least 40 minutes after i asked it to wake me up.

sorry to hear about your car sunnyskies!

The good news is my boss is not in todayand its the weekend at the end of the day

I may have popped into the shop on the way in and bought some yum yums, like cadbury's fingers
I may or may not have laughed way too much at that. Methinks you need a noisier alarm

New part. Congrats Susan .

I agree, even if Christian's proposal comes from wanting to make Syed happy, that in itself is an act of love. Thinking of your partner, putting thier feelings first, wanting to make them happy all come from unconditional love. I have no doubt that Christian wants to marry Syed too but if the proposal is instigated by thinking of Syed, then I'm more than happy with that.

Anyway, have to shoot to work now. Chat to you all later.

Hello

I've just tried to catch up a bit with all the spoiler speculation (missed it yesterday).

Pretty interesting I thought - the idea that Syed gets cold shouldered after trying to help his family (again) and then Christian makes a 'momentous' decision.

I was, like many a bit worried about the possible interpretation that Christian was the one 'out in the cold', especially as Christian tries to communicate with Zainab - and it ends badly - he might be worried and upset at Syed's determination to still be involved with them, knowing that there is no chance of them ever accepting him.

But, then again, Masood is angry with Syed for babysitting, so there's evidence there that it's Syed who is 'out in the cold', and I think this is the most likely scenario.

I'm not actually worried about Christian reacting to all this with a marriage proposal. The idea that doing this 'lessens' the proposal in some way, doesn't actually ring true with me.

Christian ADORES Syed, of course he wants to be with him forever - he's also a bit insecure at the moment with all the Masood stuff, perhaps, and even may feel guilty (irrationally, but humanly) about being instrumental in the split between Syed and his family - after all, Christian does know how important they are to Syed.

Taking the opportunity to propose, afforded by circumstances seems plausible to me. It doesn't take away anything from the proposal as a declaration of love.

Because it may be coloured a little with concern and regret and the desire to provide Syed with proof of his firm, steadfast and committed love for him, a proposal at this time is human and endearing really.
