Because it may be coloured a little with concern and regret and the desire to provide Syed with proof of his firm, steadfast and committed love for him, a proposal at this time is human and endearing really.

Fantastic post and I agree 100% with BIB. I do believe Christian does carry some guilt about the rift between Syed and his parents. You can even see the guilt on his face during the ABRC and Monday's ep and even NYD where Syed says "I broke their hearts for you". As much as he loathes and detests them and what they have done to Syed, it breaks his heart that Syed feels so hurt by not being with them. He knows that it's because Syed is with him that they have such a damaged relationship.

He loves Syed and wants to spend the rest of his life with him and committed to him and he has proven that with the fact he wants to have a family with Syed.
