OK, having read the posts here it seems they are actually Neece biscuits ... but I have voted for Nice because that is what I have always called them.

I would feel ridiculous calling them Nice, I don't know why but I would feel silly saying get us a pack of nice biscuits.

Same here. I can imagine the conversation at Tescos -

Me - Hello do you have any nice biscuits?
Worker - Yes, we have lots. What type are you looking for?
Me - Nice biscuits. Ya know, nice.
Worker - Well I think they are all nice.
Me - I don't mean biscuits that are nice I mean nice
Worker - Yes but which ones? We sell lots!
Me - NEECE. NEECE.
Worker - Oh no sorry we are out of stock.

LOL.

You see, for me the conversation would be:

Me - Hello do you have any Nice biscuits?
Worker - Yes, we have lots. Haha, geddit? 'Nice'?

And then they would take me to the Nice bisuits.

Can't believe this has been overlooked.

Giuseppe Garibaldi was born in Nice when it was called Nizza and belonged to the Kingdom of Sardinia. Apparently he was dead against it being returned to France and renamed Nice, but there was nothing he could do about it.

Nizza is the Dutch name for the biscuit (I think Garibaldi would have liked that).

Nice is the English name for the same biscuit.

Garibaldi biscuits were obviously named after Giuseppe Garibaldi, but they are not biscuits he himself would have related to as they're basically raisin biscuits, more like a Chorley cake or Eccles Cake, and not biscuits like mama used to make.

I love that you "got bored" of saying the correct thing, that is just funny.
