It's not a great deal because the phone is really old now. The 3GS came out in 2009 - it'll be 2 years old in June, so by the time you finish a 24 month contract, you'll be using 4 year old technology.

Given how quickly tech moves on, it's very unlikely you'd be able to get the latest OS updates at that point as the hardware probably won't support newer features that get introduced.

Oh, and the 3GS has a sucky camera!

If you want an iPhone, then iPhone 4 should be your minimum now (as there's a new model due later this year).
