Audio drop-outs
I've had audio drop-outs on quite a few programmes I've recorded on my TiVo - the sound breaks up for a couple of seconds several times throughout the programme. The latest to do this is "Come Dine With Me" recorded on Ch4HD tonight. Has anyone else experienced this?

Same
Hi there, I too have noticed audio drop outs (on BBC1 HD I think) If I recall I had this when the V+ originally launched. think an update sorted this. I am surprised no one else has this as last time it was quite common.

I haven't had sound drop out on any recording so far - even HD recordings - even when it's recording all 3 tuners
Only time my audio drops out is when entering/exiting menu |

It is more liekly TiVo recorded the drop-outs from the incoming signal. |

And the relevance of this is what? It doesn't matter if the drop outs are source related, software related or hardware related. They are irritating either way.
It puts it down to a faulty receiver or a faulty signal into your house. That's the relivance |

It makes a big different.

That's the relivance The reality is that VM and Sky are incapable of providing 100% reliable systems where sound is concerned and there is nothing we can do about it. Its matters not a jot why the problem crops up from time to time, (its probably due to imperfect software) its just does and we have to live with it. V+ was renowened for sound drop outs. VM TV is an imperfect system and the OP will be wasting his time chasing down a so called fault that in all probability doesn't exist in a way that can be rectified. Just my opinion an an engineer. |

It puts it down to a faulty receiver or a faulty signal into your house. That's the relivance Feb 2007 SA V+ installed - no drop out problems. Mid August 2011 Samsung V+ installed - Regular sound drop-out on various HD channels including SyFy HD, E4 HD and FX HD including recordings viz: Dolby Digital 5.1 amp turned on. V+ connected via Dig' Optical cable to SONY STR DB930 Amp and V+ set to HDMI Audio Overide = ON I monitored sound Dropout (D.O.) whilst watching FX HD Falling Skies recordings over 2 hours. Sound D.O. occurs approx every 3 minutes but does not occur at the same time point when I rewind 3 seconds and then replay each incident. There was no D.O. during 5 min of Pro-Logic adverts but 1 D.O. during a Dolby 2.0 advert. Also monitored SyFy HD & E4HD recordings on several occasions.....sound drop-outs vary from every 1.5 min to 5 min. Other Forums have same reports but they tend to relate to the SAMSUNG V+ box rather than the SA box. Virgin Media & Samsung have been aware of the problem for over 15 months at least but no one can identify the cause nor offer a solution so I have been advised to go back to a SA V+ Box. The Tivo is no use to me . Returned it after 5 weeks due to major software fault in that the Tivo would not recognise the HDMI connection without either REBOOTING or Disconnecting/Reconnecting the HDMI lead 50% of the times my TV was turned on. What a pain
