Hints The Doctor knows about his fate?

There was some discussion after TIA that the Doctor might know something about what happens to him at the lake, and I think I've picked up a few more clues that may be the case. In DoTM he says something along the lines of 'you only live once' and gives Rory and Amy a look that seems meaningful.

In episode three, right after the black spots appear, the Doctor says 'if something's going to kill you it's nice that it drops you a note to remind you' and pats Rory on the cheek...

Does the Doctor know more than he's letting on? Is he teasing the companions into telling him what they saw?

Anyone else spotted hints like this?

I haven't found any personally but he must know I mean they weren't exactly whispering and they were just underneath him.

I think he so DOES know and that's gonna be one of the big twists later in the series. I don't think Moffat would make him so weak that he's oblivious to Amy and Rory whispering behind his back about his impending doom.

I reckon he always knew from the moment he came back into the diner with the excuse that he was getting his special straw! My guess is that the Doctor we're seeing now is the 1,100-year-old one.

If he knows he seems far more willing to accept it than his previous regeneration!

In the first two episodes The Doctor says:
'You only live once'

In the Curse of the Black Spot:
'You have to go sometime'

Maybe hints?

or maybe the doctor was the astronaut, he turned up late @ the cafe.

I think he at least has an idea that something is being kept from him, and he is trying to figure it out.

I am certain the Doctor knows that his death is on the line, just not how, when and what the significance is.
But he's working it out for sure
After all, he's the Doctor

I think he's definately figuring it out. I mean, imagine if the series had begun when the Doctor walked out and saw Amy, Rory and River. We'd probably be theroizing they've all just seen his death from the way they were acting.

my thoughts are:

where as they maybe hints that he knows, they may just be signs that he has picked up on them knowing something he doesnt.

He knows they know who recruited them, amy said "likewise" when he said he worries. the whole positive/negative pregnancy. and the doctor is a clever guy, of course he will have picked this up.

I think all the lines that people are picking up are the doctor trying to tease out what they know.

or ... HE KNOWS!

Or maybe the script writers are rubbing our noses in 'foreshadowing'

Of course we only have the word of the Doctor that he was an older version. He could have been lying for some other reason, yet to be revealed.

Ive said it before and i`ll say it again, the Doctor that was killed was a fake and the real Doctor was in the spacesuit, or maybe not as the case may be.

Presumably Amy shooting the astronaut and, when asked "what are you doing?", replying "saving your life!" (her new catchphrase?) were a bit of a clue that whatever started the adventure had made her extremely sensitive to the idea of the Doctor dying?

Not only does he know, he knows that his future (or lack thereof) is tied up with whether or not Amy is pregnant... the future in which he lives might mean her not having a baby.

I reckon.

I thought the same thing in this episode, it seems like he knows what Amy & Rory have seen. Think there was a comment something like "there are worse ways to go".

Maybe the Doctor is the mysterious 6th man on the beach?
By the 'Shed'?

Just a thought....

I wonder if Matt is actually secretly leaving and its not been confirmed so that it wont ruin the plot? It feels a bit like the last Tennant series when other characters in the show were dropping hints to the Doctor about his death and we all knew its was coming because DT was leaving but we didn't know how. I got the idea from the hints so far.

Maybe its the other way round this time to keep it a surprise for the viewer? I do love him though and hope its just a storyline!

There are two probabilities sharing the same space. One in which Amy is pregnant, one where she is not. That's 2 Amy's in one reality..

Now, if there are 2 Amy's then there will be 2 Doctors. Perhaps one potential universe's Doctor is killing the other in order to resolve the situation and collapse the potentials into a single reality.

They are both the audiences Doctor, but only one is RIver's Doctor and one is not, one is 900 and one is 1100. It doesn't matter to us which one survives as long as there is a single reality left at the end.

Preferably one without Matt Smith and Amy Pond but that's just me, they are better this series but still not my cup of char.

I made a thread about the Doctor hearing River speak when he was outside the TARDIS and River inside (Ep 2) and trying to hint that if he is sympiotic with the TARDIS and can hear what is spoken inside her, then the relevance is that he already knows what the crew have been talking about his death....but sadly, those who replied to that thread were not intelligent enough to comprehend what I was attempting to say so I left it alone.

Well maybe the pregnant Amy is one where Rory was not bought back. I know many fans of the show hate the idea of the Doctor and relationships but what if the baby is the Doctors, produces the child which can regenerate, Rory finds out and gets a little bit upset.

Most definitely.

I am sure he has worked out who the letter was from and the most likely reason why he'd send himself such a note.

Also, in the scene where Amy, Rory and River are chatting underneath the console you can see a shadow move the top of the stairs. I am sure he knows.

I was pretty certain that he knew when he sat down in the Tardis in TIA and said something along the lines of the companions not ever thinking they can outsmart him.

He must know at some point to send the invites.

The Old Canton did clearly say that is was really the Doctor and he was really dead.

But then he could have been wrong. Or lying. Or just have made his lines up on the spot. Or been Florence from the Magic Roundabout in disguise for all I know.
