Seen this TV in a High street store and seems to be a good buy but is it any good?

i am thinking about getting it and it has good reviews but just wanted to know if there is anyone on here that has it?

A friend of mine bought one of these a few weeks ago. I have seen it and it looks good, he seems happy with it.

Think Hitachi are just rebranded Vestel screens not great quality. You do get a lot of screen for your money though.

Yes, Hitachi ceased to be a decent make decades ago (back in the 1970's?), almost all their TV's now are just cheap Vestel clones.

I have an Hitachi 42inch 1080p 24p LCD TV with built in Freeview. The model number L42VP01U.

I brought it back in April 2009 from Bennetts Electrical and it cost me £599.99.

The Hitachi has been great and I have seen then in Argos for £399.99 which is exellentvalue for money.

And who cares if they are Vestal sets that are baged as Hitachi I don't.

So from my experiance I would say go and buy one and you will love it and now they are even better value for money.

My parents have this model, i think. Its great.

On Dark pics can you see any white patches like backlight bleed?

ive heard that it can happen with cheap made tv,s.
