3. Why was Canton pretending to kill Amy, Rory and River at the beginning of DOTM, and why was the doctor imprisoned? (Bearing in mind they were working for Nixon, the president)

4. Is Amy pregnant?

5. What was the Doctors motive for destroying the Silents?

6. How did the Doctor know to go to 1969 before being aware of the Silence?

7. Who is the woman with the eye patch?

8. Is Canton going to return?

9. How do the Silence sleep upside down?

10. Who is the girl who regenerated?

11. How did she escape from the Silence?

12. Why did she regenerate?

13. Why were there pictures of Amy in the bedroom?

2. Not sure what you mean...a reference to the Tardis exploding in PO or BB from season 5?

5. Because they were interfering in humanity's development? It mostly seems to be to impress River Song, though. The motive is questionable, and may be what leads to him facing the consequences of his actions in 200 years...totally wild speclation, though.

9. How do the Silence sleep upside down? Same as bats, maybe? There seemed to be a difference between the suited Silence and these, or the ones River found in the caves. They might be immature Silence, hung from the ceiling to keep them out of harm's way.

11. How did she escape from the Silence? She was strong enough to break out of the life support space suit.

12. Why did she regenerate? She is a time lord, partially time lord, or has in some other way gained access to their regeneration abilities.

13. Why were there pictures of Amy in the bedroom? It suggests Amy was the girl's mother.

14. Was the one of her holding a baby a red herring? Unlikely; very few things turn out to be red herrings on this show. The baby is almost certainly Amy's, although possibly not the Amy from this reality.

15. Why was Amy crying when the Silence captured her, and why did she suddenly stop? She stopped being frightened and became terrified; fight or flight response kicked in.

16. Why did she say life was boring before Rory despite knowing Rory since she was little? Sneaky script writing to make the audience think she was talking about The Doctor.

17. Why did the Silence write all the over the walls in the orphanage and not just kill the crazy man?
They hadn't written it, he had. His mind would occasionally realise what was happening long enough to send himself warning messages to get out.

18. What was meant by 'Silence will fall'? No idea yet, see 7

Good point; if the Silence Accepted the need to imprison The Doctor, it seems most likely they would provide the materials.

Under the warehouse in TIA, except the entrance was a fairly permanant service hatch.

Awarness of them may help resist the auto-suggestion.

That this was their last kiss; their relatiinship will grow less intimate (from her point of view) from now on.


Excuse the wild speculation on some of the answers. The fun is in deciding on your own interpretation for most of them.

That would imply that she cannot meet this Doctor again in her future as he would remember the kiss, but it wouldn't make sense for this Doctor to call for an earlier River if he needs her again. Unless River is a fixed point in time and hence events must happen around her.

I lost the will to live with the list I'm afraid, but in terms of this particular point.

The DWARF star bricks were not provided by the silence, this information was given secretly to Canton by the Doctor in order for them to build a room which no-one could see or hear anything from.

The Silence had no idea what was going on here.

That doesn't explain HOW they got dwarf star bricks.

Good points about the dwarf star bricks, I'll have another think about it. Perhaps it's a new range from LEGO.

I think, and it's a big ask, is that Amy, The Doctor, Rory and River Song are trapped ala The Dream Lord episode last year. They may be imprisoned somewhere, but experiencing vivid adventures in a dreamlike state. Hence the strange lady with the eye patch looking in on them.

I know it sounds fantastical, but it does follow...

Here's another question. How come River Song's hpynotic lipstick not affect the Doctor when they kissed? Affects everyone else. And I don't think the answer is simply "...because he's a Timelord".

I venture that the kiss was simply an exchange of information and the Doctor knows what's in store for him...

I think so, yes. When the doctor was back in the Oval Office he said something along the lines of 'until the next time' to Canton so it would seem that this is likely to be the case.

Can you imagine River Song not wearing any lipstick? Come on!

We already know that he meets an older Canton in Utah when he's shot.

I'm of the opinion that the Doctor knew what was going to happen when he told Amy and the others not to interfere. Canton supplied the gasoline to burn the Doctor's body which suggests another meeting in between.

But the question is, how does the younger Doctor know they will meet again? Of course, he probably doesn't and it was just a way of saying goodbye. I know I've said "See you later" to people who I have no reason to expect I'll will see later.
