Now give me a second to explain...

We see Amy in a picture with a baby
We think she's pregnant
When we first see the eye patch lady, she says "she's only dreaming" ~ in the Dream Lord's faux world, Amy was dreaming she was pregnant.
The second time around, she sounds encouraging "you're almost there, stay calm" like you do when in labour.
Thoughts?

That's what I was thinking last night too, I expect it's something else though - seems a bit too obvious

Her dialogue last night certainly made me think of her being a midwife

Agree with the 'midwife' theory - that was certainly my first thought after what she said.

What makes you think it was the Dream Lord's faux world?? I didn't see her in Amy's Choice?

I thought that too.

"Stay calm, you're doing fine" - exactly the words of a midwife during labour.

Not sure how the dreaming comment fits from last week though.

The 'eye-patch lady' is called Kovarian who you will discover more about in episodes 7 & 8

SHe is becoming increasingly warlike. The Doctor claims he's a man of peace but nowadays he seems to love hanging around with gun toting and sword wielding men and women like Canton, Roman sword wielding Rory and Amy and River Song.

He had no problem hanging round with Ace, Leela or K9 either though.

The one problem I have with this theory is the way she always talks through a hatch in a door, which more suggests Amy being a prisoner of some sort (perhaps in an asylum?). I dunno, it strikes me as too contrived a device to be wholly meaningless.

From the first sighting she struck me as a doctor of some sort, I'm one of those who began unconsciously referring to her as 'the nurse in the hatch' when actually, there's absoultely no indication as to what/who/where she is.
Agree with you though, the way she's peering through a hatch both times we've been her, and speaking to an unknown at her side; as though Amy's being observed, rather than cared for.
Can't imagine the circumstances though

Spoiler
In the part where I read about episode 7 which eye-patch lady is in, there's a photograph of 2 cribs - a cyber one and a tardis blue one

Which would go along with the midwife theory.

I really wish I hadn't seen or read these but it was like finding wrapped Christmas present and I just couldn't help myself

Someone has a bun in the oven!

I think the midwife idea or the asylum idea are most likely.

She appears in clips lasting less than 5 seconds. I think the eyepatch is a clue to let the audience recognise her rapidly.

been thinking about this and the first time we see here is in the orpanage with the slients. What if she is still with the slients and (god forbid) this is a dream (or flash back) because she has been impregnated by the sliebts to give birth to a time baby to fly there tardis.

I do have this feeling that this is a dream...pirates (when did she learn to sword fight?) and i have a feeling that the following episodes will have things to do with her dreams.....just a crazy thought
