Hiya - hope somebody could help.

I'm looking at buying either the LG RHT497H or 498H and just want to check one thing before taking the plunge !

I want to use it to archive some recordings from Sky+ to DVD -- will this be possible (presumably by using one of the Scart sockets in the back of the device).

I know the LG records to DVD from its inbuilt digital tuners and from the HDD - but will recording from an external device be ok ?

Yes, no problem

Being able to record from SCART is one of the things that differentiates a DVD recorder from a PVR in the main.

Most PVRs only record from their built in tuners and do not have the necessary hardware on board to allow recording from SACRT. Whereas most DVD recorders do have the necessary hardware so they can record from SCART.

I can't say I have ever seen a DVD recorder that cannot record from SCART.
