Did anyone else find it odd that The Doctor didn't help Amy revive Rory at the end of CotBS?

Not really because Rory clearly wanted Amy to do it.

she also signed the consent form to take responsibility for his care/treatment.

why do people on here have to nitpick every minute detail to death?

But it's not like the Doctor not to help.

I think that there could be more to it, just look at the expressions Matt was portraying. He wanted to help but for some reason couldn't.

Earth could also technically be his home as The Doctor is half human

Vaughan runs from being part of "that argument" , all over again!!!

Do we know that for a fact? Has he been to University on Earth? I thought the Doctor was a name he was given/ had chosen on Gallifrey, how do we know what field of study it refers to?

The Doctor once claimed to be a Doctor of Everything. (Utopia)

He does seem to know a fair bit about medicine though.

It might be. I assume what you're thinking of is "My colleague is a doctor of medicine and I'm a doctor of many things. If we could examine..." from Revenge of the Cybermen?

What they were trying to do was to recreate James Cameron's 'The Abyss' revival, a heart rending scene.

To get out of an impossible underwater situation Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio asks ex husband Ed Harris to let her drown, get her out and revive her later.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fjS0...eature=related

They get her back to the craft, things don't go well and it all rests on his love for her....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSRm0l_escg&NR=1

Amy and Rory ...it's all about the love not The Doctor.

...watching these I can't help wondering about parallels with the little girl in TIA and perhaps a future Rory fate.

Well yes, but I was mainly being flippant!

He's not a doctor, he's The Doctor.

But in New earth he says "I know a bit about medicine" (implied understatement)

It's his favourite planet and he has defended it so many times, why not stake a claim to it is what I say!

Amazing how a particular line can stick in the memory though, don't you think?

According to Target novelisation of The Moonbase the second Doctor said he studied medicine under Lister. Great for antiseptics, not so good for CPR.

I agree with the above amy signed the consent form so if the doctor had help the siren might have popped up again.

Also it was important for amy to do what with all the confussion about who she is talking about in regards to who she love

I dont think he has any medical qualification. whatever he may or may not say . He is a chancer. A bit of a dodgy geezer. But he is bright and probably knows first aid. you would have thought he might have stepped in when he saw amy making such a hash of the CPR. it seemed all he needed was hollywood CPR. which was lucky.

edit : and of course amy signed the consent form (was it a vogon ship ? bit fussy about the red tape ?)
