Gary and Alesha? Oh God...
It's bad enough with the US panel (basically being a mix of UK XF and AI), but if a boring boyband member and a failed popstar join the UK panel, I don't think it'll be worth watching this year.
They can find a far better replacement than Gary Barlow. Only the Take That fans are going to like that decision. I'd prefer someone like George Michael or, if they're looking for a producer/manager, Jay-Z. In terms of the female judge, they desperately need to fill Cheryl's place. Like her or not, she's HUGE! Alesha will flop. She enjoyed modest success with Mis-Teeq in the first place and limited success as a solo artist with only two top 10 hits. Lily would have been a brilliant judge. Full of personality, outspoken, a laugh and hugely successful. Plus she's taking a break from music. The alternative to Lily would be Charlotte Church for the same reasons. XF is a HUGE show - the biggest in the UK. If all they can find is Gary and Alesha, they might as well axe it. |

Sure, Gary is successful but he just lacks charisma, and his monotone boring voice it could put you to sleep! And as beautiful as Alisha is, she has even less charisma, she is the least interesting judge on Strictly - just very boring, same repetative comments. I think the show could handle Gary if there was a feisty cool girl like Lily Allen or Charlotte Church on the panel to counter his blandess. Ideadlly I would love George Michael (industry experience, very funny, and has been great on any comedy show i have seen him on) and i think he would have great banter with Danni and Louis. And to accompany him Lily Allen - they would have been super, but instead we are left with the borefest of Gary and Alisha!

Has Alesha been confirmed?
I'm not a Take That fan but Gary is talented as he writes their songs doesn't he? I know he runs songwriting workshops. |

Neither of them are officially confirmed.

I was sceptical with the new line up on A.I., but I am loving Steven Tylor on the panel. It got me thinking that I would love to see someone like Alice Cooper on our show.
![]() I don't mind Gary, as he has the talent to back his opinions, but can't say I am so keen on Alesha. |

(Still praying for no Barlow. Alesha I could stick, but not him) While we wait to hear if Alesha Dixon has got a job on The X Factor, Simon Cowell has confirmed that Gary Barlow is one of the new judges. Simon Cowell revealed that Take That singer Gary Barlow will replace him on The X Factor and is the only judge to have signed a contract so far. Simon said: “Gary Barlow is the first person confirmed.” Before Gary was officially confirmed for the role, Simon was championing him, saying he would be the perfect judge. He said: "I think he would be terrific on it. He's very competitive." Due to Gary’s involvement, ITV bosses have now pushed back auditions until later this month and are working on dates which will allow him to perform with Take That on their stadium tour. LOVE Gary being on board! He has a nice guy image but we reckon he won't hold back with some cutting comments if they're needed! |

And that statement hasn't been confirmed. We don't even know if Simon even said it.

Alesha is guaranteed now. She hasnt been tweeting which maybe suggests she wants to keep this wrapped up until it is confirmed?
Who else can it be if it isnt Alesha? I am surprised though because I remember her talking down about the xfactor and SImon Cowell. Anyway, the show will be really dry if that is the final line up. |

True what some of you are saying. Lily Allen would have been really good because she has the personality to liven the show up and will be different from the other 3.

I'd love Lily, but I doubt she'd ever do it. She's spoken out against the show many times in the past and was quite sarcastic about the reports saying she was doing it on Twitter.
Gary is talented, yes, but Michael Buble is available iirc, and is even living in the UK right now. He's a far, far better choice than Gary Barlow

Personally I think his acceptance of the role could backfire quite a bit on Gary Barlow. I think he may be under the impression that his current popularity is down to himself. It isn't ... its down to three blokes who agreed to come back with him for a tour in 2006 ... and any one of those three blokes has more charisma than Gary has. On a plus note! If it is true that Alesha Dixon is on board ... her witch-like cackling will soon wake up those who've dozed off to Barlow's soporific speaking voice! |

I think Gary would be a good choice, maybe a safe choice. It could be worse: it could be Robbie.
![]() I'd be surprised if Alesha got the job. She doesn't really work as a judge on Strictly IMO - but then again, she'd be more qualified to judge on X Factor than she is for Strictly. I do think someone like Lily Allen would be a much better choice though. |

![]() Can't see anybody else doing the job as most don't want to or don't have the time. Nicole is on the US version, Lily Allen has said she is not doing it and is against the show, Kelly Rowland?, so that only leaves Alesha Dixon. |
