HTC Desire HD Dead?
JonPaulWild
09-05-2011
Received a HTC Desire HD on Tmobile contract last week and been very happy with it so far. However last night the battery was low and I left it and woke up this morning and could not turn phone on.

So, I put phone in charger for a bit and got the orange light, but after a while ir change to a blinking orange and green light. I can't turn phone on whilst charge or not charge.

I hold down the power button for a second and even a few second and nothing. If it's dead already I am furious.

Ah right then your going to have to take it up with them.As your on contract with t-mobile no harm in trying a t-mobile store first to at least confirm the battery is kaput.

not sure if you have tired this or not, but take your battery out and then put it back in, then put on charge, if this doesn't work then possibly, then there is a fault somewhere

No, HTC is not rubbish, you just have a faulty phone.

Fair enough./

I have ordered and just received a new battery via ebay. However, I have arranged for collection by the place I bought it from for a replacement. Should I still go through with this because the new battery of a UK ebay seller is now working in my phone. The battery that came with the phone must be faulty then?

I don't get this - your week-old phone stops working and you try and fix it yourself? Get onto T mobile!

And fyi, if the battery is very dead, it can take a few minutes of charging before the phone will allow itself to be switched on. If you haven't already, let it charge for an hour and try again.

Don't get so worked up. You are covered if it is only one week old and you can get a replacement. Don't go forking out for a new battery

This happened to mine. The guy at the shop said it looked like it had been dropped due to damage inside the phone. Just take it back and get it replaced. I was pissed off but since getting it replaced its the best phone by far I've ever had.
