Just wondering about cats and dogs etc. We have two cats, one is independant and only likes her head/back stroked. She does not like her legs or paws touched. The other (male) loves sitting on or next to you with his paw held/squeezed. If I squeeze his back feet (foot massage!) he purrs.

What about your pets?

Both of mine ( Gizmo and Bookend) love their tummies being stroked and tickled

Bookend will come over , roll over legs in the air to let you know her tummy needs stroking , and they both like having their paws rubbed as well, odd little cats they are.

Most of mine are ok with being stroked and there bellys tickled. I have often woken up holding chesters foot. The only ones that dont realy like it are smokey he only likes his tail stroked up too his back and sometimes head rubs otherwise i wouldnt have any hands left. Also maisey moo she hates her belly touched and can get a bit tempermental with it. All of them let us comb there fur though. Guinness also sits on my knee like a baby he has always done this but only me.

Both are complete fools for a tummy rub or tickle.

Elphie does this gorgeous thing where she sits perfectly with both paws in front and lets me lift one briefly to be squeezed, Ruby wouldn't be that patient! They both love their bellies rubbed though! Ruby will also do "heads" on demand whereas Elphie only does it first thing of her own accord to wake me up!!! Lol x

one of my cats loves having his belly stroked, paws held etc. but the other would take you out for the thought.

Def not! How dare I even think of such a thing. Paws are there to slap me across the face if I'm not up at whatever time food is demanded.

My dog on the other hand quite enjoyed it. He loved shaking hands/paws with whoever would give him a pat and stroke.

I am definately under the cats paw!

Sometimes Rolo lets me stroke his paws, but won't let me hold them.

Favourite is being stroked under the chin....dribbles when this happens, also tummy rubs, but also loves his ears being massaged, which I have heard is very calming.

My cat attacks me if I stroke her paws, but in a friendly way with claws sheathed. When she gets the claws out I know I have to stop!

Our boy Momo is so soft. Very tactile, especially with the centre of his universe - my daughter. She often walks around wearing him like a fur wrap. He likes to hold hands and if he sleeps with you he's up close and personal - try gammy cat breath in yer face as a wake up call.

His sister Beanie is a sweetie but more independent and typically catlike. She likes a fuss but on her terms, she likes to sleep on my son's bed or my bed but at the bottom of the bed. She likes her own space.

Our previous cat Bully loved being stroked all over, including his belly. He liked his paws being held.
Our new cat Charlie likes a stroke but not his belly. He likes his front paws held but not his back ones.
He likes to go to bed at ten o'clock prompt and sits at the top of the stairs crying if he can't get in!

My first cat neo likes me to hold his paw and stroke it and sometimes he will put his paw on my face and keep it there not sure why he does this I assume it is a sign of affection as otherwise he would slap me!

If I hold my cat's paw, she pulls it out and puts it on top of my hand as if to say "no". If I hold her back paws (obviously when she is lying on her back on my lap - not when standing up!) she will tolerate it for a moment and then swipe me.

Amber doesn't like being held and she'll go for you if you touch her tummy but she is fine with her paws being stroked.

She'll actually flex them for me so all her little claws poke out !!

Both mine like to 'hold handies' and have their toes tickled. They stretch their toes out as far as they can. Whilst they like their paws held and squeezed, one also likes to hold my hand. He rests his paw on my hand and if I go to hold it, he lays his paw again on my hand. He also tries to stroke me in his funny way too. I'm sure he thinks he's human or that I'm a cat. When he was a kitten he kept trying to pick up a mug by sliding his paw through the handle. Now he just resorts to drinking out of my glass or cup when he thinks I'm not looking.

Mine lies on my pillow and likes me to hold his paw and then he rests his head on my hand and goes to sleep!

My cat Alfie insists on holding paw/hands. He will come and sit next to me and put his paw on top of my hand. It doesn't work the other way round, has to be on his terms with his paw over the top. He loves it!

My cat's not keen on paws being handled, although he does "allow" me to clean them if he gets very muddy! Tummy is a no go zone if he's rolling around on the floor, but stood on my chest and he's fine with it. Fussy much???

Our kitten hates her stomach being touched and thought they all did. She now allows me to touch her front paws and will bite me if I touch her back ones. She likes her back and neck/face/head rubbed. When she's had enough I get a little nip to say she'd had enough.

Yes. Infact if you put a finger between the pads they grip my finger...cute.

My doglets are all quite cuddly but all Hate having their feet touched. Don't know why but the lightest touch and they hustle their paws out of the way with the kind of look humans reserved for dirty old men in macs....

Our Charlie (cat) used to love having his paws held, he would also lie stretched out on my chest with his paws on my face for ages, no claws or anything,
Floyd, our dog, on the other hand hates you touching his paws,

I have a white Ragdoll/Persian mix female. Sweetest cat in the world. She is white with grey paws and ears. One of her back paws is white. She doesn't mind me touching the grey paws but when I get near the white paw, I'm in trouble. She doesn't scratch or anything but she just looks at me with the cutests eyes ever and tells me to stop. If I don't she gets up and waks away
