I must be mis-hearing things as I thought Ed said "I'm the youngest" then the guy on his right said "yeah I'm the shortest" kind of sarcastically to what Ed said. Or did Ed say both things?
Ed said both

He just didn't listen to anyone............all his team mates and Sraalan, what a complete plank......and those vacant eyes with absolutely **** all going on behind them.

He may be the youngest (and the shortest) but he was also probably the w*nkiest.......so far

Obviously suffers from Small Man Syndrome.
So true! Why are shortarsed men so whiny
And he is obsessed with being , or not being , an account.
It was a bit sad really but it will be interesting seeing if his Atta's food brand takes off.

Accountants do sometimes seem to have a problem with admitting what they do for living, John Cleese has got a lot to answer for re the sterotype! Not sure Atta's a natural when it comes to rolling the figures though, and probably it's why he's in such denial re his qualification plus why he quit / was let go from the firm that employed him.

It was made completely perfect by telling Dara that all the others were freakishly tall

so sad we have been robbed of so many potenial one liners from him , but I have to agree he really was the only option for firing

Its a shame a short person cant moan without it being branded 'small mans complex' - ridiculous really

Edward's firing is a travesty. I couldnt give a toss who's the best worker, they're not gonna work for me. I watch the show for prats, egotists, bitchy women, narcissistic men - Edward was by the best impression-maker in the opener, he should have been retained for that reason alone.

Besides, he was bang right when he said the other fellah put himself up for pm 'spinelessly' thats EXACTLY what he did! He didnt really put himself forward AT ALL. Karren should have backed Edward up on that one, but obviously didnt like him and didnt mention it deliberately...Margaret would have.

We've lost this years legend in week one.

Well exactly - an opportunity lost here I feel. Leon didn't seem to offer much in terms of actual achievement or, more importantly, entertainment value. Ed was a comedy legend in the making.

We now have to rely on Vincent turning out be as slimely and annoying as he appears on first viewing. Oh and perhaps for Melody to share with us the knowledge imparted to her by Al Gore, the Dalai Lama AND Desmond Tutu!

The others may shine in future episodes - am looking forward to the mad professor/inventor as PM - all is not lost.

Yeah, Mr Inventor had a creepy way of talking to LS - hopefully he'll be carted for unadulterated arse-licking later in the series

Seriously Ed - you'll be missed.

come off it, all he could do was bluster about how great a leader he was and then he just cried and said 'roll with the punches'. he had nothing left to offer.

I agree. The Rhydler doesn't seem to understand that Lord S isn't looking for someone to provide entertainment for D S Forum members!

The guy was fool.
Everyone knows don't volunteer yourself for the first task, let the team make a decision.

The rest of the team quickly realised this guy was just going to fail and they could all survive to next week.
It made for another pointless Apprentice first episode. Just like last season some idiot comes in thinking they're great when actually they suck and goes out. Waste of an episode.

I do know that! However the programme needs a degree of credibility which it would not have had were Lord S to have kept that vacuous accountant as a potential business partner!

It's one of the few chances for liberals to have a go at being a bigot.
