I think she was just very aware that she would be seen as a scapegoat if things didn't go right by Melody. Apart from that she wasn't that bad..

So far I am not mad about Melody or Edna but, as someone above said, the show is edited so that we form opinions. None of them appeal all that much tbh.

Hmm... I can see her growing on me as the series goes on. I think she'll last for quite a long time.

preston41 is basically telling you not to use the cliche "chip on their shoulder".
Quite rude of them actually. Quote:
I'd be surprised if she didn't have at least a small chip if she has to constantly deal with unfair prejudice from people who see it fit unwarrantably vilify her at the earliest opportunity.
Behaviour sciences are very important in business btw. If so, I'm quite upset about that. I'm the first person to fight against prejudice if I see it

Edna - seemed a bit `up herself` but we`ll have to wait and see.
What put me off initially was the white lipstick - looked weird as if she was having a heart attack. |

Perhaps she was, poor woman. Then everyone would feel guilty about not taking to her.

She made the worst mistake on the girl's team. Having been put in charge of the cash she seemed to think that meant stopping it being spent.
"I'm in charge of the money, but the others are doing deals" (you're supposed to be keeping track of spending, that's it.) Shall we spend the rest of the money? Edna says no. She won't last long unless she improves a great deal. |

I love that the Apprentice is back on!
It is obviously very early to judge the characters of the candidates with it just being the first episode but, with Edna, I just didn't get the impression that she did very much on the task (or maybe I'm being unfair on her)? Maybe I would need to re-watch the episode back but my main memory of her on that task was just this non-pleased expression on her face that she had throughout and did more talk than action. Susan, who I thought would be quite timid (don't know why I thought that) actually brought up the question of buying more which Edna didn't seem to want to even ponder. I'm happy for Edna to change my mind as the show carries on because I would rather she didn't remain hereon the same way she came across on this first episode. |

Pretty certain the above partial bio is on the same website you happen to be using now. ![]() For any kind of psychologist she doesnīt seem all that clever around other human beings (mind you, I would have guessed Natasha to have been the psychologist if we didnīt have the names to go with the professions). |

before u all start i dont care or give a fig if shes blue black or purple
i just didnt like her attitude she was rolling her eyes at everything that was said-made a dig about not wanting to deal with the money but done it anyway was patronising and cutting people down -when susan(?) said we should spend the rest of the money told her it was irrelevant then when alan said why didnt u sopend it all if i wanted u to spend 170 i would have given u that she was nodding like a little lapdog i feel shes another katie who will stab them all in the back and thinks alot of herself when she actually didnt do anything |

She was partly to blame why they did not use the full 250 pounds and I'm certain she would brought into the boardroom if the girls lost . She just was not going to let them spend that 91 pounds.
She is going to be trouble in future tasks. |

In a sense I see the OP's POV. She did come across as though she was sizing everyone up and then giving a look of disatisfaction at whatever she had decided. I.e. Very judgemental. Not unlike us really. I suppose in her line of professionalism that's what she does everyday and the editing has managed to capture that in this first episode.
In her defence though, Melody did say at the start that she didn't want to spend much of the money and then gave the purse to Edna. I think from that point, Edna was literally taking that on board and being rigid with Melody's own rules. It would have been interesting to see how this would have played out in the boardroom had the girls lost as I think we would have seen a battle of wits at play between Edna and Melody each blaming the other for the loss of the task. I actually think that Edna is going to be good value on the show as I think she's going to use people's own rules against them, being in charge of the money tonight being such an example that she would have no doubt ensured it backfired on Melody. Just my initial interpretation of her and the experience in pyschology that she will use against her oponents. |

I think she will get her come uppance when she is project manager.
It is easy to criticize, harder to actually manage and as she said her expertise is HR and people management, she failed to get them on her side and to her way of thinking. University degrees earned in a classroom come unstuck when thinking quickly on your feet is needed, she may have the theory but dexterity and flexibility in the face of the task is also a requirement. But will watch with interest, I dont wish her to do badly but think the attitude will need to be mellowed. She is not in charge of the other contestants as in a workplace scenario and does not have the same authority either. |
