Directly with network or via CPW

How many of you get a contract phone directly with your network (if they stock the phone)?

Or do use a phone website or the carphonewarehouse?

Would it be just easier and cheaper to get a phone even though it could be branded and locked directly from a network?

Any advice?

Thanks in advance.

I try and always get my phones from CPW as I want an unlocked, unbranded (i.e network rubbish) phone.

I often find that I can get the same or better deal with CPW than with dealing directly with the network.

I would never touch an indie. I always buy direct.

I would never give cpw or any of its over companys the time of day. Phones are easy to unlock these days so i'm not concerned who's brand it is.

"Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Albert Einstein.

After being bitten a few times I stopped going near CPW... Recommended a colleague not to go to CPW and guess what... he got bitten too!

Between giving me a phone that had been used and had dirty used earphones in the box, non-repairs and just crap service I prefer to shop at the network stores or as a last resort Phones4u.

CPW stock is usually labelled as a CPW model (I'm thinking of my Nokia 5800 back in 2009) it didn't come with half the accessories (memory card, extra stylus etc) that my mother-in-law got when she ordered hers direct from Nokia.

I wouldn't even buy a top up at a Carphone Warehouse store now.
