Sure

No word on Laura.
Chicago PD and Blacklist are renewed

and the other show you are talking about is called Backstrom. That hasn't been renewed but it's done bad in the ratings so a cancellation is very likely.
Thanks I do love american dramas and series that make me laugh and the ones that can keep me on the edge of my seat. One of my favs from the new season was Empire really enjoyed that. On the other hand I've watched a couple of episodes of The Royals and was at first incredulous and then couldn't take anymore and switched off half way through the second episode.
ps- thanks for being friendly and helpful the US tv forum is enjoyable to post in.

Yeah it is good

It's slightly along the lines of Nashville but with rap music and a darker tone

There needs to of been a series 4 first, and I doubt it as it was cancelled years ago and most of the cast have moved on. However that would be a show I would like to see become apart of this new revival trend. It still ranks as one of HBO's most popular and acclaimed shows.

The whole Deadwood situation was a double-whammy. Carnivale was cancelled because HBO didn't want the exorbitant cost of continuing to produce both, and then a season later cancelled Deadwood as well anyway.

HBO make some truly great television, and they rarely make mistakes, but both Carnivale, and Deadwood, were doozies.

I agree. Deadwood and Carnivale were the ones that got away.

Carnivale was offered a two hour film but the creator decline as he had a six year plan for the show and found it impossible to combine the four extra seasons he would never have of storytelling to be told in a two hour film. Totally understandable

HBO expressed interest in 2 or 3 wrap up films for Deadwood. The cast were all up for it, but HBO never bothered to give it the greenlight.

The cancellations of both those shows were perhaps a rare low moment in the history of HBO.

Agree on both counts. Throw in Rome, too.

I'm currently watching Deadwood for the first time. I've just started season two and I am thoroughly enjoying it.

Calamity Jane has already become one of my favourite characters in anything - Robin Weigert is just outstanding in the role.

Forever is nothing like Elementary.
Yes it is.

Henry is Sherlock Holmes as pathologist.

It is also a but like Highlander, but quite different in other ways, too.

Possibly making the main character British (thus emphasising the Sherlock impression in a way that otherwise might not have occurred) was an error. Though then we would not have got such a charming and well acted Henry.

Either way it is hard to see this as anything other than a dead duck, unless someone at the network is as big a fan as some of us are.

Perhaps they should ask Sky or the BBC to co produce a series 2?

Talking of Elementary, it appears it has been renewed for a 4th season as Director Larry Teng tweeted this earlier today

Very excited to announce that I will be directing three episodes of @Elementary_CBS next season
Not a surprise as we all knew it was going to be renewed anyway but it seems to confirm that at least

The BBC won't commit to anything longer than 12 episodes (and Episodes had a bit of trouble even getting the BBC to commit to that), so it probably wouldn't be anyone's interests for that to happen.

This is pretty much late as it premiered last Tuesday but Comedy Central UK picked up the rights to the tv version of Bad Teacher, the film which starred Cameron Diaz. It was cancelled in the US but CCUK will show all 13 episodes of season 1.

Pick TV which is currently showing Siberia (also cancelled after 1 season) has picked up the UK rights to SyFy's 13-episode zombie show Z Nation. Will premiere later this year on Pick.

Speaking of SyFy, SyFy UK has picked up the UK rights to Dark Matter, a new sci-fi 'space opera' show from the writers and producers of Stargate based on their graphic novel. The 13-ep show will premiere shortly after it debuts in June in the US.

Z Nation is fantastic. It's the walking dead if the writers spent their entire time pissed.

Not sure if these have already been mentioned but they won't be getting another series, State of Affairs, Marry Me and About A Boy.
